Make Sure You Drive Through TEXAS, and eat some of the best dam BBQ in the U.S. They say the Memphis Style BBQ is good but I'm a little biased towards Texas BBQ. Nothing beats some good sliced Brisket with Pinto Beans with jalapeno peppers and potato salad. If you did't know this little trivia tidbit. The second largest Canyon in the U.S. is located in the Pan Handle area of Texas.

Be safe and enjoy the trip. I used to love driving long distance.

Bring an extra serpentine belt. I always have an extra one in my truck. It's such a simple and cheap part, and it's easy to change, but if it snaps, you're not going anywhere.

Are you talking about this place? They filmed a scene from Uncle Buck there. Haven't been there in a long time but when I went, it was delicious. Fresh from the farm.

You'll have to google BBQ places as you go. I'm sure that there is a decent one in just about every major town. That looks like a steak house.

You don't mean the chain...Famous Dave's, right? If so, we gotta get you down to TX and get you a little more dialed in. :hungry::cheers:

    I don’t know if it’s a chain or not.
I actually don’t eat out a lot, because I’m too cheap.

I jokingly tell everyone, what will ultimately kill me is all the “packages food” I eat.

Yea, that place is up here too. It's a chain place. But I totally understand not dropping your entire bank account on dinners. I can't go anywhere w/o racking up $100 for 2 of us, and that's byo or no booz. And if I hit one of my favorite Houston bbq spots, it can easily ring up $50...for freakin' lunch! That's why it's a splurge for me when I'm in TX. If I lived there, I couldn't do it all the time. Or I'd have to really limit my intake lol.

I got a good friend down in Texas.
Maybe one day I’ll make it down there and find out what all this Texas BBQ is all about.
