I thought about it. But haven't gotten around to it. When my Wife's 3rd Gen comes back from the shop I'll take a look.

I fabricated it myself out of 14ga hot rolled steel since that is what I had on hand. It does not currently exist as a consumer product. I made it this design for the exact reasons you mentioned against the expedition essentials one.

I'm going to work out the kinks of this design and maybe offer a flat-packed 16ga kit cut on my plasma table. They would definitely be a limited run.

I have DEPO housings and they have held up really well. Had them for over 6 years and the clear coat is just starting to peel. Going to 2K clear them and they should be good as new. Other than that, no leaks or any other issues. I think you would be better off going that route than trying to use those housings you linked

Truck was a little dirty behind the ears after some fly-fishing and bird/duck hunting trips. Bath time.

So sometime in late august when I was washing my truck I noticed my right bedside closer towards the cab was a little loose and I looked under the truck and noticed that the support was rusted through and snapped. So first I ordered the part and thought it would be a simple fix, of course it wasnt. When I was trying to unloosen the bolts all of the sheared off because they were so rusted. I tried prying them as you can see with a screw driver but I had no luck. So then The part you see bent kind of like a "(" shape the guy at the parts department couldnt find it and it ended up being a part of the bed which I am not going to spend that money on it for a little part. So then I procrastinated for a little while longer and just today in my auto shop class I tried getting it off with a bigger pry bar and it still didnt work so last resort was the sawzall. Which obviously worked I just ended up getting some new bolts, washers, and screws and put it through. And finally got it done and its nice and firm. More relieved to have this project that has been dragging on to be done.

Passenger side brake pads are in. Hoping to god I used the right ones lol I went by the letters on the little “ears.” Had to cut out one of the pins because of the damn New England salt. One pad was frozen in place completely so I scraped up the caliper around that area to let it slide more freely. You can see the spot where it was frozen lol

Tested out the new suspension set up.
The TRD offroad swaybar allows for a lot more flex than the sport.
Of course, it looked way cooler in person.

Alright bad news and good news. Bad news is one caliper has a seized piston. Tried to pry it to compress but didn’t wanna destroy my rotor too much with the pry bar. Put some pb blaster on and left it. The new pads were so much thicker that I couldn’t use the little metal shims that were on the stock pads to squeeze the new ones on. Good news is they’re on and the pins on the drivers side were a good hour or so, but they came out in one piece! Will update after test drive

What kind of shifter knob is that? I feel like it’d dress up my interior a bit without looking clunky and tacky. I’ve just got the all black base model knob

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that a caliper was seized. You should just go ahead and replace both at the same time

Yeah it’s now on the list just this past week I did both wheel hubs and brake pads and I’m mentally preparing to do the needle bearing to ecgs bushing swap. Lot to keep up on on a 10 year old New England truck. She recently had the trans cooler line replaced as well, due to rust. Oddly enough though, the frame is SOLID and 95% factory paint still. Only rust on the body is a tiiiiny bit in the door sill where the plastic joiner piece joins the metal sill to the carpet
