Ya this is at least my 5th or sixth Single Barrel, and I think I agree with you. I'm still in the neck of this one so maybe that will change.

Both. Actually never even heard of Hard Truth before this morning, but certainly haven’t seen it around before. Their a fairly new craft distillery from what I know, and this is their third batch of their own distillate. And Pikesville I hear and read great things but never come across it. One of my Honey holes had both today. Pikesville according to the owner wasn’t even supposed to be on the shelf. The Hard Truth sold out within a few hours but I found a single bottle out of place after lingering hoping to come across one.
Cracked both and they are real good. So much so the Mrs wants me to go grab the other 2 remaining bottles of Pikes and I think I’m gonna

Regional availability is Interesting. Pikesville is common and available everywhere here.

My other half went back to work yesterday after 3 years off. Flight attendant based in JFK so Thursday she “commutes” from LAX>JFK, works Thur-Mon, then commutes home Monday night redeye or 1st out Tuesday. Which means it’s me solo with the 1 year old during those days. It’s night 2, it’s Friday, and this bottle needed to get put out of its misery. Send help.

One of my favorites. Readily available everywhere, good price, just a hint of peat/sea, very tasty. Stop promoting it. Not a secret, but if everyone gets in on it then it will become hard to find!

I had been waiting on this one.

Some of you may have seen 'Hardin's Creek' bottles around. It's a relatively new limited release series from Beam, started this year with two flavors:

    - Colonel James B Beam, a 2 year old blend.
    - Jacob's Well, a 184 month (15 and 1/3 years?) blend of two bourbon recipes.

I didn't have a lot of interest in Colonel (I don't usually like young whiskies) and had been staring at it for about 6mo waiting for some Jacob's Well to drop. Finally, stumbled on some today at one of my local ABCs.

Chuck Cowdery gives it a run down here if you want to dig in further. He doesn't like the marketing, but early reviews on the liquid have been positive.

Finished up the lighting and put things in place for the basement bar we built - just waiting on the 4 barstools we ordered to arrive this week. We bought some others and decided they were too short for the front of the bar - but we'll keep two of them for us to sit behind the bar since the bar top is lower there. Lynn came up with the vision for the design - came out pretty nice, I think. Happy to be done with the work - now on to the enjoyment. Even have room for some more bourbon - had to slip in some bottles of gin to fill the right lower cabinet and still have room in the lower pull-out cabinets and the stand on the right center.

Thats a sweet setup for sure!

Basements aren't legal where I live (not true, but you'd be a complete idiot to have one), so my in-home bar has to wait for the kid to move out. Just 16 years to go!

MK One again. Absolutely excellent. Some reviews complain that this is basically a 10-14 year old WT101.

As far as I'm concerned, that's high praise.

I haven't tried that offering yet, very interested. I did pick up a few bottles of their Rye BIB this week and it's delicious. I've always liked everything from them so far.
