If you're so interested in what he has to say, don't tell him to edit his posts.

Dealers install all kinds of things in all kinds of trucks, we did too, and we absolutely would warranty everything on the truck if there was an issue, but that was on us to do, not Toyota. If you took a truck we modified to another dealer not associated with us, there's no warranty on the work we did. I would put money on a Toyota dealer that is a Magnuson dealer offering full coverage during the warranty period if something went wrong, like the transmission. That said, most likely, they would probably just do the repairs and not mention the supercharger to Toyota USA, if they could get away with it -- that's really what you're buying when you have a Toyota dealer install aftermarket parts, someone potentially willing to look the other way when shit hits the fan.

As for who designed TRD's aftermarket superchargers for Toyota in the past, that was indeed Magnuson, but there's still a big difference between buying an accessory from a company vs. buying the same accessory that is sold by Toyota themselves (not the dealer) as a "Genuine Accessory." One was tested to varying degree by someone at Toyota and gets you nationwide, potentially international, warranty coverage from any Toyota dealer (or potentially Lexus dealer), the other doesn't.

A Magnuson supercharger installed by a Toyota dealer isn't the same thing as a Magnuson supercharger supplied by Toyota installed at the same dealer.

But still, if you really want a supercharger on your Tacoma, and want the best possible chance of having things covered, getting it installed by a Toyota dealer who wants to sell you a supercharger is absolutely the way to go about it.

ok, cool. though, it seemed like it when you instructed me "don't tell him to edit his posts" when I very clearly asked nicely with good reason, that he agreed with.

I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of saying that you want to hear what he has to say, but in the same breath tell him to edit a post. Getting angry over an internet forum is silly.

    Again.
I asked nicely For him to change something about his first post that was no longer true. Do you actually take issue with that?

Yes. It's hypocritical. I don't care if you offered him a reach around. It's just weird to ask someone to edit their post while in the same breath saying you want to hear the entire story. That, and rather presumptuous since you're not a mod and don't own the site.

I’ll explain. I was making a roundabout critique of the number and tone of the plethora of comments telling the OP he was totally fucked and stupid for thinking he should hire a lawyer. It wasn’t *really* about his post. Do you get it now?
