Well one thing i can say is you get what you pay for. I use to have a roll up by tonnopro and it didn’t last more than a year. I recently got a tri fold canvas top same material and convertible tops. So far im happy with it. I rarely ever use the whole bed. But it easily comes off . Either one you get will do the same purpose. E788804E-3DA9-4F5E-BA63-3C5B0101A4D5.jpg

They both fold / hinge 2x, making 3 sections total.

The ads are inaccurate in many ways, some being language translation.

I don't think it matters which you chose, because at under $200, both will have a pretty short lifespan if they are out in the weather most of the time.

I have over seven years on an Extang Trifecta and it's still going strong.

It's more money than the original options posted. But, as others have mentioned, you get what you pay for.

Another vote for Extang Trifecta. Had mind over 8 yrs before I replaced canvas top. They shipped a new one for free with the lifetime warranty. Keep your receipt!

I have had a Lund-Genesis Elite, tri fold cover on my truck since new, almost 8 years. It is the canvas, convertible top material and looks as good today as when first installed (always garaged). It is "almost" waterproof, leak proof through a power carwash. It can be removed by one person in ten minutes. If I needed cargo security, I would error on the side of a hard cover. Since I only need to cover bed contents from the elements, the Lund cover has been quite durable and effective.

Great to know about their warranty in case I need it. Do you have to buy direct for the warranty? I bought mine from AutoAnything.

I don’t think have buy direct from them honor warranty as I didn’t. . They just wanted proof of purchase receipt. The lady spoke too at Extang was real nice and said I had 1st gen cover but it was no problem one of guys there would stitch me one up. I got it shipped quickly and was easy replace.

I have the Tonneau Gator SFX Tri-Fold. It's been awesome so far and has held up to me using a pressure washer on it without leaking. Even tried to get water in it to test it out and couldn't get it to leak. I did use some of the extra rubber trim pieces it came with to put under the hinge points and wherever it didn't sit perfectly flush with my bed rails. I had to remove it once to move a couch and to take it off and then reinstall was under 10 minutes all together! Would 100% buy it again.

I watched the video of the Extang Trifecta 2.0. It wasn't clear if the 'spring action' clamp would fit in the slotted rail on the side of the bed. Is that how the clamp hooks on a Tacoma? Thanks.

Mine has brackets that fasten to the rail. The clamps on the tonneau clip over these brackets.

    Cheers.
