Not necessary, but a should do. They only perform this upgrade if you complain about load capacity or harsh ride. They will also perform the upgrade if you mention the TSB by # directly.

I have a Prerunner access cab, you are good to go. That is ONLY for the standard cab, for some reason they stopped doing those.

Speaking of this TSB, I hooked up my trailer and camper to the truck today and it barely moved. I had to get a 3 1/4" drop and a 4" drop hitch bar.

This is to all you Canadians who use this forum; Toyota Canada will not do anything regarding the suspension TSB yet!!!! Complain to your dealer and phone the 1-800 customer service line to register your complaint. My dealer here in Vancouver knew about the American TSB but Toyota Can. has not agreed to any spring swap etc. While I don't haul many heavy things around the stock springs are very soft and bottom often with light loads. I put air bags in back 2 months after I bought it just to make it bearable.

I wonder if this'll give any noticeable lift on the TRD Off-road package. When I go in for my first oil change (free) I'll have them do this too, but I don't see a reason to be without my truck before then.

From what I have read, Toyota Canada has been doing them longer than the USA. Sounds like you need to show them the Canadian TSB.

Prob get 1/2-5/8" in unloaded rear height. The dealers are not stocking the TSB parts, so you most likely won't get it done at oil change time, unless you stop by the dealer and get them to order the parts for you. Some dealers seem to want to go to extremes to verify need, some will order if you just ask, but unless they are your personal friends; they are not going to order the parts without you at least stopping by the dealership.

Not true, I never stopped by the dealership at all. I just called (RING) and the answered (HELLO) and I said I have a harsh ride and hear there is a TSB for a harsh ride on the 07 Tacomas. (Let me check) he said...then...(what size are the tires and what is the serial #?). I told hium and then he said he would get back to me after speaking with Toyota. He did in a day and said Toyota said to do it.

Yeah getting them to do the TSB was easy for me. I mentioned the ride in passing, and my service rep said - "...there is a TSB for that. If you would like I will order the parts for you." :D ok!

Now the problem is getting the parts in! :frusty:

If you showed up to my dealership saying your truck was bottoming out id say "no sh!t Bruce Banner! These trucks weren't meant to haul people your size around all over town every day!" And then i would refuse to give you the TSB. Of course i would do all of this behind the safety of a heavy locked door.... and if you gave me any trouble.... it would be the windmill for you!

The TSB actuallly originated in Canada. Non-TRD Canadian trucks were coming with TRD suspension long before American dealers got the TSB. Tell your dealer to shove it and that you want the TSB!

Good point. I'll make sure and call them a few weeks before my oil change is due and see if they'll order the parts based on my phone call, or if not, I'll go by and argue my case. Makes me glad my dealership is only 10 minutes from where I work.

I have a 07 Tacoma TRD Off-Road and called the Toyota dealer in Columbia, SC. I told him about the rear being soft and that the ride was harsh. The service guy asked me what I was hauling to make the rear bottom-out. He actually got a little pissy with me at first. I told him about the TSB and that the rear leaf spring replacement also helped the overall handling and ride of vehicle. He said that he thought that was true and that the dealership had performed several "fixes" regarding SU006-07. I said that due to the handling, hauling, and towing improvements that I wanted to have the TSB performed on my truck. He said that I needed to bring it in so that they could have a look at it. I hope that this is not going to be a fight.

By the way, I have read that some of the 07's actually came with the improved leaf springs. Is this correct? Because if it is true then that would be another argument to use to get the problem corrected. I mean if Toyota saw the need to change the leaf springs in the later models that came off the assembly line, then wouldn't it make since to assume that the engineers thought it was a problem?

Also, I have noticed a few of the members here are in SC, has any one successfully had this completed without a major hassle?
