Hey all. New guy here. Been a Taco owner for a little over a year new. Mines a 2021 SR5 Trail Edition. Nothing super fancy, but I do wish I'd known about the lunar rock 22/23 T/E's, I would have waited.

Came from a 2021 Cactus Grey Ranger. I do miss the Ecoboost and better payload of the Ranger, but the interior and overall build quality (and sliding rear window lol) of the Taco feels so much better....

Not planning on doing a ton to it, but I'll follow up with my few mods that I've done below!

On a side note, (as of 10-8-2022) if anyone in the Pittsburgh area is interested in taking over my lease (under $400/mo) until June of 2024 and having the option to buyout for low $30's after, please PM me. I intend to make a post in the FS section, but until I get 50 posts, I'm not able to. Truck only has 11,800 miles as of this post and is a 9/10 condition wise. My dream Taco popped up today (manual trans), and will be built in the next few weeks, but I can't reserve it unless if I find someone to take over my lease. Otherwise I do love my truck!

    A few pics:

So far, I've just added the typical TRD Pro Grille, led bulbs in the lows and fogs and license plate, Amazon bed lights, and the OEM bed mat. Other than that, it's been stock for over a year.

So far, I've used the Taco to tow a close to 4,000 lb boom lift for my garage project, as well as a U-haul trailer with close to 2,000 lbs of wood in it. Taco did good and handled both trailers well. Do kinda wish I had forced induction though... lol

It even hauled my mountain bike too (lol)! I do wish the factory tri-fold would fold up against the back glass or simpler to remove. Makes getting a 29er in the bed with the front wheel on basically impossible. But at <5 mins to throw the bike rack on, it's not a huge deal.

    Wheels:

I picked these bad boys up today. 2022/2023 Trail Edition Wheels. I've been drooling over these ever since I saw the new Trail Editions (figures 2021's didn't get the "good stuff").

They're identical in spec (as far as I know) to the Factory TRD Pros. While there's nothing wrong with my factory blacked-out TRD Offroad wheels (they seem kind of rare in them selves) these really "do it" for me.

Planning on going with a subtle 265/75/16 and a mild level/lift. Excited to see how the slightly more aggressive offset looks! I know I can get a larger rep wheel, but I'm just going for the OEM+ look.

I've got some SCS Ray 10 Matte Gunmetal (still have a brand new spare in box as well) I'd trade you they're 16x8 Offset: -12 with Maxxis Razr 10 ply weighing only 38.1 LBs.

Nice truck and excellent choice on the wheels. I picked up some trails and swapped them on my off road as well. D9705750-FD23-4E62-92DB-F1E7F9A03EA9.jpg

I really like these wheels and was planning on buying some of these for my TRD offroad, but the guys at Les Schwab and Discount Tire said I could get rubbing if I go from the 25mm offset (stock) to the 4mm offset on these.

I was going to just keep my stock Goodyears for the time being.

@TacoJay808 it looks like you did exactly what I was planning to do. Any rubbing?

You shouldn’t experience rubbing if you stick with the OEM tire size 265/70, unless you were planning to go bigger?

Have you upgraded tires yet to the 265/75/16? I just got my TE wheels and thought about it. I also have mud flaps and worried about rubbing if I go to that size.
