Yeesh. I'm sure an 18-22 YO Male is bonkers for insurance

I shop around at the end of every premium. So far I've been with the same company since Apr 2020, they've continued to be the lowest, but not by a significant margin.

She may be coming with me. TBD. If she comes with me we'll probably have to sort out something. If she stays home, she would be solo w/ 2 vehicles. I dunno, again it's 18 months away from needing to know immediately (probably start looking in Jan/Feb of '24). Just curious if anyone had done it and knew.

    ....for 6 months?

Right now we're about 200/mo o_O I hate Rhode Island.

Holy shit, im at 400/6 months right now and pretty happy with it. Was like 600/6 on my NY policy but even that wasn't bad at all, 200 a month hurts :bananadead:

    Me, wife. Tacoma, Camry.

    https://www.valuepenguin.com/car-insurance-by-state

Michigan and Florida are the only 2 states higher than RI. Don't tell me about massholes or NY drivers  - RI tops them by a long shot, and hey - we have data to prove it!

(There's gotta be something about Michigan and how their insurance works, because that's bananas, I knew they were higher but not THAT much!)

Oh I believe you about RI drivers hahaha, but I forgot you have your wife on your policy that makes more sense. Been super fortunate that my wife's dad gifted her the car and also continues to pay insurance for it :anonymous:

I mean you're my age so dating I'm assuming ballpark 25 that's not unreasonable. Worth a second glance.

I think I’m just under $200 a month for three, maybe less. I pay in full so I usually just throw $200/mo in the budget and call it good.

I just switched the Vette to Haggerty. It’s got some restrictions in use but it’s nothing crazy. I can’t daily it, but taking it to work a day or two doesn’t cause issue. I pay $50 less a year and I’m on an agreed value and I keep the salvage after the accident.

My Tacoma and the wife’s Jeep are on full coverage 100/300 limits with the add on for accident forgiveness and upgraded towing. That was the addendum that gave me MSRP plus sales tax when I took out the Mazda less than a year after we bought it.

I am still net positive on insurance over my lifetime so I can consider that a win.

I need to get that done. Maybe with some luck the weather will change next Friday and I can do it then.

Finished my ramp project. I have to believe it’s going to be beefy enough to handle my lawn tractor, but we will see. (6) Simpson strong ties and 2x6 construction with 5/4 board will hopefully hold a lawn tractor well enough.

Still haven't done mine or my wife's. Just took the water out of the trailer yesterday and pulled the window units out. I'm very much behind this year.

That’s my life story right now. I haven’t mowed my yard in weeks, I’ve got a downed tree I need to chop up, etc. Just having the ramp built has dropped my stress level by half, so at least I can reorganize my garage now.

    Wow!

I'm at $843/year for my F-150 and my trailer. I didn't have any coverage on the last trailer and it was $677/year for just the truck. It's through a local Horace Mann agent but the auto policy is actually underwritten by Commerce/Mapfre - I think they don't do their own auto policies and that's why. My homeowners is directly through them, though, and the multi-policy discount still applies, so it works for me.

MA has a rule that insurance companies have to offer a 12 month policy if you ask for it. 6 months is a bunch of nonsense - just a way to adjust rates double as often.

I appreciate the offer. I do have a small HF corded unit that will work just fine if I even need it. My guess is my Sawzall with a pruning blade will rip through it without drama.

My whole yard is a mess, actually.
