Did Rivian model their suspension engineering after Honda's from the mid 2000s?

I think Rivian already copyed Ford's supply chain and delivery models of the past few years.

I’m sure this was the only one and this one instance caused the recall.

    Well, looks like you’re wrong.

I obviously prefer they make no mistakes but what is more important is how they handle them when they do happen.

You could say the same for a ballpoint failure

Oh I’m not dogging the response from rivian. They’re doing the right thing even though any ole jackleg with a torque wrench could check their joints

Thanks for teaching me something. I had never of a “jackleg” previous to today.

I'd like to know how Rivian is going about towing an R1T to service that has a failed ball joint.

Are they using a flatbed and skates to winch the truck on the bed. Are they using a wheel lift and dollies?

You have to download the tow guide from Rivian to see the recommended methods for towing.

    Could be an addendum.

I don't want to download the guide. I'm just wondering if they have to disregard their own recommendations when towing a Rivian that dosen't have it's suspension in working order.

How do you tow any vehicle that has suspension that is fucked? It’s nothing specific to Rivian, no manufacturers publish guides for how to tow when the suspension is no longer attached.

Attach winch, drag vehicle onto flatbed.

    Watch the sparks fly.

If a vehicle is in pieces and is blocking the right of way, the expectation of being towed without any more damage goes out the window in favor of clearing it off the road.

Nope same as ICE vehicle. The only issue could be the weight on the dollies same as any other 3/4 and up truck.
    Heck yeah!

Ideally if it was safe to do so away from the road. Lift the front reatch the knuckle to the control arm and put the truck in tow mode.

    I like option #1 better.

That's great if you can drive your Rivian to the service location. What if the front suspension implodes on the way there?

I don't think it's a huge problem, but I wouldn't want to be the customer driving a $100K truck to get repaired and have that happen. What would that customer's lawyer have to say?

My brother-in-law is having mobile service on his R1S. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Take five minutes and put a wrench on it yourself then.

It makes you wonder what other parts weren’t torqued properly at the factory. At least Rivian gives you a factory flashlight in case your wheel falls off at night.

Just paid premium dollar for a vehicle, I know how to do all that shit…I am not touching it. The mechanic they send better be hot female, and I should get a happy ending for that price.
