Park on hill overnight. Start it up with cap off Massage the radiator inlet hose once it starts to warm up to try and convince any bubbles to escape.

 

Will parking it on the incline at the end of my driveway work? There aren't any true hills conveniently located near my house. Also, which is the radiator inlet?

 

I miss my 1996 Nissan Pathfinder...

 

Ideally, the top of the radiator needs to be higher than the top of the heater core.
So the incline needs to be kind of steep.

Heat not working 100% when it's gonna get into the 50s doesn't really bother me; A/C shutting the bed when it's 90 degrees is a different matter entirely...

 

Dress in layers and take a gallon coolant.
Just in case the air finds its way out on the trip.

 

I am the opposite.
I hate cold, I can handle hot.

 

I hate wearing layers when I'm driving, and the good news is that the heat works when the truck is moving. Can't be any worse than being on Boston Whaler center console in Massachusetts during a gale...

 

I hate serious cold, but I've been known to roll the driver's window down when it's in the 40s...

 

And I was literally driving a Boston Whaler in a gale last month!

Yeah, hopefully just a trapped air pocket. As mentioned, if you can park facing up hill with the cap off it would be ideal.

 

I can take the cap off, but I don't have a steep hill near my house...
