I wonder how the Gladiator would look if it got the YJ Renegade treatment?[IMG]

    Nope.

But, I do miss our convertible. If you are happy with your Taco, there are other ways to get the topless fun.

I had a Wrangler JL in between my Tacomas. (07 OR and now 22 Pro). Wouldn't mind another Wrangler or Gladiator. IMHO the powertrains on the Jeep side are much better, but will see what the 2024 Tacoma redesign brings. The doors and roof off are a blast with the family in the summer and they are just fun to drive around town and off road. I don't keep vehicles long so I'm not one of those Tacoma owners that cares about what happens to a vehicle 10 years from now. Had 0 issues with the Turbo 48V wrangler for 2.5 years and sold it for more than I bought it for to get back into a Tacoma.

The proportions of the Gladiator to me require a lift and big ass tires to look right, now a 2 door Willys soft top with a stick is a right sized, fun little vehicle, friend of mine had one of the last generation, he put way over 100k miles on it with no real issues, maybe he got lucky with that, but I liked that thing.

I’m pretty sure that half the forum driving a Tacoma can’t afford hookers, or blow.

It would be kinda strange to put a supercharger on a trashed engine.

This is the only new Jeep I’d ever own… 2 door manual, rubicon. 3.6. It’s my mothers. Yes she wheels it.

The Jeep had an engine heavy ticking/knocking noise at times before the supercharger install. Jeep claimed it was "normal". The engine blew after the Jeep Magnuson supercharger on the stock supercharger tune with no mods in less than a year. My 2nd Gen ran the Magnuson supercharger with extreme mods, downsized the pulley, then downsized it again, then downsized it again still, massively overdriving the supercharger for huge power gains. Aftermarket fuel pump to feed the higher output. Full intake replacement for more air, to add even more fuel and push more top end power. The truck was pushed to the brink of what was possible at the AFR ratio, so far beyond OEM limits, and yet was still the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned with nothing more than a battery failure in 5+ years despite extreme abuse. The Jeep self destructed in less than a year on the stock Magnuson supercharger.

Never drove a Gladiator. Looks like a metal box, welded to a metal box, welded to another metal box. It may be a great vehicle but ugly as fk IMHO...

Yep, for sure. It’s even a pretty basic rubicon. Only options are

    • Rubicon package
    • LED Lighting package
    • Cold weather package (block heater, heated steering wheel, heated seats. It gets down to -30 here, so… was needed)
    • Upgraded sliders
    • Dual top package (hardtop for winter)
That’s it. No fancy nappa leather or anything.

I love and own both. Both are a blast to drive and have their own purposes to me. The taco was my desert/ off-road/ camping and daily for me since 2017. My Rubicon Gladiator is my newer toy and just a blast to drive both on and offroad. But yeah ask opinions here on TW and it will be one opinion and then go to jeepgladiatorforum.com and hear a different one. Really just test drive both and go from there if you're trying to pick.
