Gonna get on the roof today, check for cracks in the tiles, then slide a few back to take a peek at the insulation.

I should have done this a few weeks ago when it was still above freezing but I got the sprinklers blown out this morning.

I should probably give the grass one of its last cuts before the snow flies.

Vent for the toilet may be close to that spot. I have a tile roof so nothing protrudes through. Will keep that in mind when I go inspecting.

could be a condensation build up from a leak or accumulation where your stack emerges

So I have automation set to close the garage door at midnight if it’s still open. Well it was open because we were packing up the GX470 for the boys 1st BDay party tomorrow. It closed on the GX barn door & tweaked the FUCK out of the track wheel before the safety stopped it. I Spent an hour trying to straighten the track, wheel & wind the cable back on the tension rod. It still goes down crooked & pops off the track. GDMF looks like it’s time for a whole new setup. For now I just unplugged the motor & jammed a bolt in the track to prevent lazy/honest thieves from entering. I’m sure my condo neighbors loved my 0100 impact gun shenanigans.

So the FedEx lady dropped off the sink Friday and I was all excited as the box looked pristine (I was almost expecting to clear a jam at work and see it smashed up  ). Opened it yesterday morning and while it was indeed intact the wrong sink was in the box! It was a gray single bowl instead of a double bowl. Well chit... Luckily Home Depot is around the corner from work so I just returned it and re-ordered it before heading in. Guess the sink will be next weekend. Thinking about taking out some cabinets this weekend instead.

Well since the sink was a bust, we cut down a limb on one of my trees that was dying.

I just put the laundry room sign up.

The man cave sign in the laundry room has been up for a few years. My wife thought it was funny.

...and 8 years later , the Rhino Fence is getting finished

Did a test run for the bridle joint to attach my 6x6 cedar posts to the 2x6 structural steel posts I installed a lifetime ago

Over the weekend with help from my dad and dad in law we made progress on the bathroom reno. Got the insulation and vapor barrier finished. Hung all the drywall. Cut and fit subfloor. Ran all new supply lines. Hard to get any decent pictures in such a small space. I’m beat now!

Well, no soft spots on the wall, no vent stack in the area unless it takes a crazy turn and hooks to the vent on the other side of the ridgeline and no real discoloration or wetness above the wall in the attic space.

Wife yells out to me (from upstairs window)............power out in m bath and m bedroom.

    WTAF?

I go to the breaker panel. Sure enough the one GFCI Breaker combo in the whole box is tripped. Off, then on. Fine. Working. I generally use one of the guest bathrooms so I don't poke around in "her" bathroom = well except to pee at night. Anyway I go in there today and there on the same circuit is a GFCI outlet. Somehow the original clowns have TWO GFCI DEVICES IN SERIES (breaker box type and outlet doubled up). I guess it works. BUT WHY?

    @OZ-T

Or anybody of course, since we just spoke about the products; have you installed or used the Ditra system from Kerdi for the heated floors? Tempted to go that route for our master bath next

Well I would guess he’s been happy with it if he’s still using it haha. That’s the plan for the master bath floor

Schluter makes good stuff, and it’s usually pretty readily available. Don’t drink the “your mortar has to be unmodified” koolaid though. :alien:

the only thing you need to take into account is the total build up of the thinset / ditraheat / thinset / tile thickness if you are transitioning to another flooring surface
