With all the different settings the one comment I do not hear much is ? What is the height of each setting means in terms of a lift? And what each settings means to the ride quality?

6112s six settings , someone mention 4/5 rides better then 5/6 . But no one mentions the height difference?

Please what is the height of each settings? How does it effects the ride?
Most aftermarket stocks will better then stock, for most people who goes off roading.

The lift for the new 11 circlip model is one page back at the very start of this thread. I've re-attached it here as well as the 6 setting version for comparison.

Note I did not get the advertised 1.7" on my 10/8 setting. I am not stock but don't have a ton of weight either. No winch, still have stock front bumper. Main weight is sliders. In order to get 1.5" to 1.7" I had to upgrade to the 650# springs. That was a bit frustrating. I even called Bilstein and they said you will get what is advertised unless you have a winch or have added a heavy offroad front bumper. I only ended up with about 1" with the 600# springs they provided.

    As always YMMV.

As for the ride, mine at 10/8 rides like a dream. Look up "Tinkerers Adventures" about lifts, preloads on springs, and harsh rides. It isn't about how much preload you have, it is how much up/down travel do you have left after the pre-load. It can cause you to top out or bottom out on the shock.

Thank you for posting the chart for the Bilstein shocks settings. Nice to know what each adjustment means to us.

I think the 6 notches make better sense at least for a tacoma. 650 spring or higher springs just adds more questions.

Just wondering if the 650 springs would add more height, and not affect the ride? Front bumper to remain stock and no winches .

Question ? How do people get a 2 1/2 lift from the Bilstein 6112s? Or is this 2 inch 6/5 , is just for a typical Tacoma , some gets more or less?

Is there a way to get a true 3” lift with out spacers?

My understanding to get 2.5" you do 6/5 with 650# springs. I believe if you start to add spacers after that you impact the droop and you risk the shocks topping out. That is where the harsh ride reports come into play. Tinkerers Adventures on YouTube, watch the preload video.

Here's a visual difference on the old 6 position shock, 5/4 vs 4/3:

    5/4

    4/3
    PXL_20220605_163540370~2.jpg

It really is about 0.5 inch per clip as advertised. The difference is barely noticable, but I could tell, looks, driver's sight lines, and road feel. It's subtle, but there's a difference.

I'd probably drive myself batshit if I had twice as many clips to play with.

Here’s a pic for reference. Tripped me out when I looked under and started counting the lines.

Thank you again for the info’s. I am not a spacer fan.
Many years ago, the Jeep Cherokee feature a Quadra-lift air suspension. Able Raise up to 4 inches. When you park the Cherokee you can set it to lower the vehicle for a easier access.

Riven can lift 13 inch off the ground and the new electric Hummer be raise up to 6” of lift

Rough Country Vertex 2.5 mention a3.5” lift. Is this a true 3 1/2 inch actual lift?

With 11 clip positions could they have not just made it threaded?

I'm imagining moving the snap ring halfway down that mess of channels.

    They're still good shocks.

Iv'e been looking to lift my Tacoma with the Bilstein 6112 and have been a bit confused and that's why I joined the forum. I did some homework and made some calls and here is what I have determined with the changes to the kits:

Part # 47-234413 - 2016 - 2022 Tacoma 6 Lug - These are application specific to the 2016-2022 Tacoma and include the 6 circlip adjustments.
Part # 47-309975 - this is a new multi fit kit that will work on the 2005-2015 Tacoma, 2016-2022 Tacoma, 07-09 FJ Cruiser, 03-09 Lexus GX470 - This kit includes the 11 clip settings to handle all of these different applications.

So my dilemma is that both kits are available and which one do I go with? I also tend to lean more towards application specific parts. Going to try and find out the real differences. Also, anyone running UCA's with either of these two setups? I know there are other threads, but looking for opinions with these new parts.

For most lifts 2” and under a UCA is not necessary. No harm in adding a aftermarket. A 2.5 inch lift is consider a border line for a UCA from what I understand.
The benefits will be easier wheel alignments. For Caster.
More wheel travel. May add better handling.
Maybe a stronger UCA with choices of a Uni ball or regular ball joint.
Do not forget about adding a higher ,front and rear bump stops.
Sway bar relocation kit, diff drop kit.

650 Ib coils with no added weight will ride stiff. Full skid package , sliders etc all steel WITH 650 Ib Coils Top settings rides great IMO.

Trying to determine that, thanks for the info, not adding weight now, but might in the future so I will consider that.

Has anyone put these newer 6112s on a 2nd gen? Trying to figure out ride height/ride quality prior to install. I have the chart but it seems that isn't entirely accurate. Thinking of going 8/6, and reviews or input would be appreciated!

Did you get your 6112's installed? I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I just got my set from Wheelers and had requested 5/4, not realizing they were not 11 clips. 5/4 would put me at stock height when I wanted 1.5" of lift. Glad I noticed the extra rings before installing. I would have been pissed if I installed them and got no lift. I think I'm going to swap them to 10/8 but it will probably be a week or two before I can get to it. I'll share my observations once it's done.

Yes I installed them on 8/6 and it gave me right about 1.5 inches but I have them on a second gen and imagine you're third gen will need them up a little higher if you're running the 600lb coil.
