That's usually a sign of low coolant.?

Could be air. But it could also be low coolant, bad thermostat, plugged heater core

I just stopped for a bathroom break on my way to Centralia. The heat was literally working so good on the turnpike that I started to sweat and I had to turn down both the fan speed and temperature; I am going to top off the coolant in the radiator (not the reservoir) while I'm stopped though. It is not overheating and is currently running better than it was roughly a month ago. I just picked up the truck less than two weeks ago and the heater worked great when I needed it until literally like 9-10pm last night. Now it is working great again.

Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.

Something isn't right though. So keep an eye on the temp gauge

I didn't. It hissed and bubbled so I screwed it back on. Also, here is my my temp gauge after idling for several minutes in the sun during a photo shoot...

The Z.O.R.T. flag is not made of the most durable materials, so I don't put it on the truck while I'm actually driving...

After driving around all day with no issues, it went into the red at Gwyn's house but quickly returned to normal temp.

If it's in the red....it's already overheated, if just briefly. You have something wrong. My fear is you're going to hurt that engine.

Why would it do that again after all the parts were replaced? Isn't it supposed to stay in the red if it's actively overheating?
