I know a good many of us in here are Veterans but where is a good place on TW to ask a question about a piece of surplus gear?

There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here, so I would ask it here

With 1343 pages on this thread, I don’t think you’re going to vastly derail anything by asking here….

I’ve never had any issues with my dagger. I use it as a truck gun but made sure I put a couple hundred rounds through it before I made that decision.

ok I picked up this “chest rig/ utility system” yesterday. I have one different set up just want to build a light weight one.
I figured out how to adjust the circumstance and it fits fine, zipper zips, all good. I can’t for the life of me make sense of the buckled straps at the bottom and up on the chest. If it’s adjusted to where the zipper zips both of the straps are unnecessary and too long even completely shortened

I am hoping to have an issue free Dagger, but you should definitely always put a couple hundred rounds down range to verify function.

Cut the length, or roll+tape them. The bottom has the adjustable strap around the side that adjust like a cummerbund. They are a one size fits most, and were intended to be “modular” by being worn over flak vest or by itself. Before the age of plate carriers, but after the age of the H harness.

I don’t know what else to say, the two clips, clip together, once it’s all sized.

Going off memory (been a few years sense wearing that thing.). Zipping the zipper is for normal clothing wear. The straps come into play for winter wear with a coat or wearing the IBA. If the vest is already snug with normal clothing (zipped up), then you can forgo the zipper after adding a coat or body armor and just use the straps. That’s how I used it

Doing this off the phone, so hope it works. More formal info here. https://ciehub.info/ref/MOLLE2CareUse.pdf

I just thought this might make a nice light weight chest rig especially in hot weather o or one I can lend to Son In law if needed. I picked up a Grenade pouch, canteen pouch, and canteen to go with it all for like $30 and in great condition . If I add a couple taco pouches for mags and a boo boo kit it should be good

Nice. I wouldn’t get to crazy adding stuff. The vest will go from weighing nothing, to heavy, real quick.
