New battery then washed and waxed yesterday. Big fan of the chemical guys butter wet wax. First time using it and I'm impressed.
Flushed the power steering fluid today and vacuumed out a nasty amount of stuff in the door jam cubby hole. If you haven't checked that area for debris it can be pretty unpleasant.

Started the day with a TPMS light on the dash. Temps dipper into the upper 30's last night.

Friendly reminder to remove the summer air from your tires and put in winter air. Also a good time to check your blinker fluid and fill as needed.

    - Wash and wax (pulled into the garage)
    - Gunk'd the engine bay
    - new wiper blades

    Good Sunday.

Don't forget to install the dust cap in the hub center hole, unless it was missing, which would explain all the crap built up sitting there in your spindle.

Ok I'm curious, what made you first think it was the coil over, then the LCA, then the coil over?

...and yes, lessons in DIY wrenching.:rofl:

Greased upper control arm bushings and ball joint. Greased rear shackles and after a visual inspection learned my leaf spring squeak was in fact my spare tire not being completely secured by tire shop after last balancing. Also noticed a nice gash on the rim near the hub they left from the balancing machine:facepalm:

Do not attach to both. There is a lot of flex between cab and bed

Gotta watch out on some of these tire shops and keep their asses in check. Last time I got new tires the dipshits put a gouge halfway around the rim. Fortunately I caught it while I was still at the shop so they weren't able to try & weasel their way out of it. They ended up having to send the wheel out to get refurbished. Not sure how bad your damage is or how much you care, but if enough I'd hold them accountable for it.

But hey, on the bright side at least your squeak was a simple fix. ;)

I've nothing but bad experiences with tire shops lately. I've gone to one of the oldest shops around since I was 16 with my first car, and my dad before me. It was always great. During COVID they lost their workforce. Once of the old timers still there told me he wouldn't trust them with his car anymore. Sure enough one of the tires they ordered me was bad. Although not theor fault, rather than acknowledge the defect it they slapped a crazy amount of weights to the rim and sent me down the road. 2 years, 6 balances, and endless hair pulling trying to track down a wobble had past before I went to a different shop for balancing. They informed me the tire was out of whack so it is now my permanent spare, but today i found the gouge in the rim from that shop. Now it makes sense why they insisted on putting the spare up themselves.

Seeing the pic of the shifter area console leads me to ask: Does anyone know if the plastic shift position piece (PRNDL) available as a separate replacement piece? Something got spilled on it by the previous owner and did it some damage to the plastic surface. It's the only rough-looking interior piece on the entire interior and everything I look at in the parts catalog for that areas shows it to be part of another assembly. Thanks

Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Mostly lack of experience period. I had noticed it was that joint by having my wife stand on the drivers side and bounce the Taco up and down, which allowed me to be face level and hear where it was squeaking. I initially silenced it with a bit of WD40, which confirmed it. Not knowing the makeup of the lower coil over build, I assumed, without a good look, that there may be a bushing there that was part of the LCA. I didn’t take a good look at the shock itself, or I might have noticed the wear around the shock ball joint.

I just happened to catch it today while being at face level with it and having trouble removing the shock mount nut, and then comparing it with the passenger side.

I’ve got no problem taking an internet lashing if it means I’ve learned something .

Nice! Same setup I did. My Bilsteins were pretty rusty after only 1 year. I cleaned them up and spray fluid film on them now, every now and then

After this mornings sidebar of finding out I didn’t need to change the LCA, I installed @WarFab Armor tie rod sleeves: A16CEA45-C39F-4474-AB07-CF8AAC3F830A.jpg@RedlineTuning hood prop rods: F9E55132-03F4-4F8B-BF0C-A5B16CF20C35.jpg

used a craftsman headlight restoration kit to 95% success, changed the transfer case oil, and changed the rear differential oil.

All in all, a pretty good half days work.
