Now you're just making stuff up. I travel constantly and all over the country. I even split my residence between the midwest and the southwest. I would change the route I take (and add time and miles) if I were to take an EV. AND, there are plenty of gaps in the southwest that would just be inaccessible for me

There are very few mass charging stations in the country right now, I know one of them is in Lost Hills because I always stop near there when I drive down to LA to visit my daughter.

    We’re talking about California here.

I think they have like 20 to 30 charging spots there and like I said in 15-20 minutes you can get 200 miles out of a model X or something similar.

That should probably get you over the range anxiety with the grapevine… Maybe.

i’m not even sure how much of a massive investment is going to be to build literally thousands of these across the country to replace gas stations, and not even providing the power to them because all that shit uses high 220V current, and you have to remember when people are genuinely using them it’s not like a gas station where you fill up for five minutes and go. If you’re on empty you’re gonna be spending almost half an hour there.

More chargers are coming to help.

    https://www.autoblog.com/2022/02/10/biden-infrastructure-ev-charging-interstate-highways/

States are being given the go-ahead to build a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations that would place new or upgraded stations every 50 miles

Under new requirements issued by the Transportation Department, states must submit plans to the federal government and can begin construction by this fall if they focus first on highway routes, rather than neighborhoods and shopping centers, that can allow people to take their electric vehicles long distances. Each station would need to have at least four fast-charger ports, which enable drivers to fully recharge their vehicles in about an hour.

Why would gas stations need to be replaced?

So there aren’t going to be any chargers and they’re not going to be very fast. Got it.

You would have to transform a six pump gas station into at least a 30 charger parking lot that charges in 20 minutes if you don’t want lines stretching out for miles.

Then for the people who aren’t fortunate enough to own a home, you’re going to hope that every apartment is going to put a 220 V socket in every resident’s personal parking spot.

Because we’re getting rid of all the gas cars. California already said by 2035.

What in the world are you talking about? You realize the EV market is under 5% of the vehicles on US roads?

I'd feel like a conformist sitting behind the wheel of an EV.

So California is collecting all gas cars and forcing people to buy EV in 2035? Tell me that's not what you think?

You are right that rounded up to 800 miles, from ~760. This was from Buckeye, Arizona to Santa Monica to the Bay Area. Is Arizona in the Southwest?

So you can’t buy new gasoline cars and you can only buy new electric cars.

I mean that is literally getting rid of gasoline cars but said in an obtuse language.

It mens new gas cars won't be sold in 2035. It's clear and not obtuse.

Can you register a 2036 ICE car in California that was bought out of state?

I’m guessing if it’s like every other law on the books in this state you probably would get away with it if you just moved to California and were bringing the car with you but if you’re a California resident they would keep you from registering it.

I don't think you made up your experience. Luckily you had the 10 to get you to socal. The fact that you say people can take the same routes they travel now but with EVs is what you made up. And for the southwest, as soon as you leave I10 or I40, you're talking massive distances between cities, even some range anxiety for gassers much less EVs

I predict riots, there won't be many residents who like that.
