okay, 2 weeks ago i hurt my back lifting weights at school (discussed in a different thread issue fixed). i kept my back on light duty for bout a week, had my gf massage all kinks and felt great, then we had a run of a few fire calls, next day my back hurts. i let it rest get better, then yesterday there was a small house fire, i didnt do anything major or strenuous, then afterward went and sat for an online class for the next 5 hours. well today my back hurts again. it isnt the painful type of hurt anymore, its just annoying. any reccomendations to help it completely heal up or what it is?

i think it may just be aggrivated and not had enough time to heal, but ive never hurt my back before

It's going to take a while. Keep working out your back with light weights, take motrin or naprosyn for about 2 weeks straight (as prescribed on the bottle).

Honestly, once you fuck your back up, it'll stay fucked up. You need to work out your trunk muscles like crazy to help them take the load off your spine. Obviously we can't tell if it's just a pulled muscle or something like a slipped disk.

    Good luck.

Get a chiropractor. Sitting for that long just puts a lot of stress on your back, you should get up and at least walk around every 30 minutes or so. Try to stretch throughout the day to keep things loosened up. The chiropractor I have gave me a list of things to do differently in my daily activities, a lot of it is very simple and has made a huge difference. A chiropractor that is sympathetic to physical therapy is best. Typically they are very conflicting, a chiropractor tells you to rest, let it heal, don't stress your back, etc. while a physical therapist tells you to strengthen the muscles around the affected area to take the stress off the joints. Good luck to you, back injuries are tough and shouldn't be messed with. Treat it right because if you don't it can stick with you for the rest of your life.

Back pain is terrible man take care of that by seeing someone who knows their stuff. My back has been fuked up since I was 17 and it really sucks living with pain all the time. I herniated a disc in my lower spine and I have slight scoliosis; I have back spasms pretty often. Get adjusted by a Chiropractor, they can work wonders (if you go to the right one) Physical therapy helps tremendously as well.

There is a yoga teacher in Santa Cruz who may help with scoliosis. PM me if you need her email.
