    full moron report...
left thurs after work. got half way to my intended destination and pulled over for the night - sun sets at 7pm here now and i don't like driving in the dark. or hunting for a campsite in the dark. <--thats called "foreshadowing"
fished in the AM and made my way the rest of the way to camp. got there around 1pm. camp has 12 sites. 11 and 12 were taken, the rest were empty. i like site 5 so i took that. lots of elbow room.
as the afternoon goes on a few more campers show up, mostly bow hunters. i dont mind hunters because they're gone most of the day and if they are at camp they're asleep.
no background noise back here so you hear EVERYTHING from the other campers from one end of camp to the other.
even though camp was /4 full Friday night was nice enough the folks closest to me were being quiet and everyone else had turned in early.
I put out my fire and turned in about 945.
I was just getting settled in bed and all of a sudden i hear a very loud diesel engine idling very close.
So I peek out the window....and see a class A motorhome sitting in the road in front of my site. a full 50' bus.
now this is an old school FS camp and the sites aren't that big. and there's lots of trees so its a squeeze. with a couple of S curves in the road. i have no idea how he even got as far as he did.
the guy and his wife get out and are running around with flashilghts. most of the camp is full at this point except for the two sites closest to me. they run the length of camp and back again all the while leaving their damn RV running right outside my door.
they settle on the site just after me right at the start of the tightest S curve.
so for the next hour everyone in camp gets to listen as these two try to back their massive motorhome up in the dark. oh, and it has a 16' flatbed trailer on it as well.
they're screaming and cusssing at one another and everyone in camp was awake now and screaming at them to either STFU or leave. again, you hear EVERYTHING up here. the hunters in camp were pissed because they were planning on getting up early to head back out.
another camper pulled in and was about to get in a fistfight with the dude as he was blocking the road and the other dude couldn't get through.
the other campers near me were both out trying to either help or diffuse the situation. i wasn't going to get out as i was cozy and warm in my jammies but figured i wasn't going to leave the other folks out in there dealing with the idiots.
so i get out, grab my million lumen spotlight out of the truck and offer to help the other camper back his rig (truck camper thank god) down the road and theres no telling how long twiddle dee and twiddle dumb will have the road tied up. so i get dude backed up to a point he can turn around and drive out the entrance of camp and then up the main road to the camp exit where his site is located.
i go back and try to help dee/dumb by shining my spotlight in the site and dude completely flips out on everyone trying to help and tells us to mind our own business. would have been a hell of a lot easier to do that if they hadn't made the late night spectacle of themselves from the get go.
so I thought fine, youre on your own. told the other nice camper to forget it, he doesn't want any help. he started back to his trailer too
as i was walking away i hear a crunch. he hit a tree. back in my camper, trying to warm up. i hear another crunch. another tree.
took them over an hour to get the motorhome and trailer in there. now it would have been smarter to dump the trailer at the trailhead in the horse parking before coming into the camp but noooo....
finally hear the motor turn off. thank god. its after 11pm
then more shouting. their dog ran away while they were parking and they didn't realize. so another hour of shouting and finally the dog shows up. after midnight now. everyone in camp is still up.

get up saturday morning and make a run for the bathroom, walking past their site and took that pic. the site they were in has a decent slope to it and theres no way to get level. they were off the parking pad at a 45* angle and the trailer was out in the meadow behind the site. i couldn't get a good look but i think maybe one of the crunches i heard was them hitting the picnic table.
so i'm back at my camp sitting by my fire and drinking my coffee and next thing i know this freaking dog comes up to me teeth bared and ears flattened. i picked up my fire poker (3' long, 1/4" steel, handcrafted by dad) and start to back away towards my camper. i started screaming "who's fucking dog is this?!?!?"
yep their's. the lady comes running over and calling for the dog. it doesn't listen to her. she finally comes up and grabs it and starts apologizing. i reminded her that all FS camps require dogs to be on leashes. "oh, we dont believe in leashes" she tells me. better start fucking believing because the next time that dog comes in my camp its getting a face full of bear spray.
finished my coffee and thought screw this shit parade, i'm leaving. packed up in 15 minutes and pulled out. took down the people's license palte number. stopped by the ranger station just up the road, closed on the weekends in the shoulder season. but i left a note with my # and a quick explanation to check this particular site for damage due to the idiots.
found a better campsite up the road. fishing 50 yards out my door. river washed out a couple campsites a few years back so there's a good gap between the site i was in and the others. much more peaceful

camp is one way starting at the lower right.
i was the X on the left, they took the site just after me on the right. no idea how they were planning to get through the S curve. its tight, with trees and a fence and a decent slope down.
    upload_2022-10-9_19-14-8.jpg
me the single X, nice campers the double X. idiots between us off the parking pad. i've seen larger 5th wheels in here and they struggle with the curve. you cant go wide because of the fence and if you cut too tight you hit a tree

    Good evening,

Just heard from my niece who is an RN in western Colorado. Apparently they were climbing a 14er and were confronted by a friendly bunch of these guys today.

Yikes…Here in Washington, these guys have been goring hikers for the last several years. They have no fear of you when they are up close and personal.

    Stay Well…Stay Safe

    TLDR version for Rob

idiot campers show up in a way too big for camp motorhome plus trailer in the pitch black of night and wake the entire campground up with their F-word fueled parking fiasco that took an hour. then their dog ran away and they had to scream at him to come back for another hour.
then the next morning their doggo came after me and i said F this, I'm gone.
found better camp and fished and didn't have to deal with idiots the rest of the weekend.
