I know a couple of you said you’ve done this but where can one pick up a spacer to change from 2” travel to 1” on a King 2.0 shorty bumpstop.

I asked downsouth a while back and they said I can’t due to oil volume. So spacers from them is out.

Right now I have about 1/4” before the bump hits so I’m pretty much riding on them the entire time. I can’t raise them because at full compression they are set perfectly.

Pros and Cons to adding inner Heim and solid tie rod after installing a modified Tundra rack vs adding something like War Fabs tie rod sleeves. The Heims I know will be stronger but also threading the lines of reliability. It may be somewhat of a wash, I have the JD Outer Heim setup already.

Just picked up one of @Basikbiker new Tundra Racks but keep going back and forth to heim the inner or not.

Iv noticed more feedback and my rack skipping teeth more often when I did the inner, never had a problem with outer heim/stock inner.

but that’s with stock rack idk about anything else. And I’m sure a Howe pump would fix all of the feedback.

Yup. If you skip the trans mount you are effectively just hanging an unsupported trans/t-case off the back of the block.

If that’s how you wire stuff, that’s on you. But a mega fuse should always be included in a long run. No exceptions. Most Megas are “slow blow” meaning they can see use above their rating. It’s all about proper sizing.

From what @EatSleepTacos has said the inner Heims will be hard to boot is the only disadvantage I have heard.

Wanted to get some feedback before making any changes. When was trying to crawl boat ramp at Hawk Pride I noticed when I got to the steepest part my truck would roll back. Not skid, but like someone pressed in the clutch (I’m an automatic) I had plenty of traction. Someone suggested it was low on transmission fluid which makes sense with the sensation I felt. I have no idea how much to add and I’m pretty sure there’s no dipstick on this model, but I’ve never looked. I’m paranoid about overfilling it.

Never looks as steep as it is in real life haha

There’s a process to check, basically get it to a certain temp and remove the overflow plug and let it slow to a steady trickle. It’s not a difficult process, there are a ton of threads on it.

A steep enough angle could certainly starve the pump. Even if its properly filled.

I’ll take a look. If the levels are “normal” I’m curious how much I can add so this doesn’t happen. Also not sure how it would be low, unless it was low from the factory.

Definitely a fine line for overfilling. Too much and you're going to kill a trans because of fluid aeration. Granted if its sucking air on a steep angle that's definitely not helping the cause either.

Poo. I need to figure out how to check the level. Maybe it’s just a bit low and an extra half quart would do it. I can’t have it happen though, it was dangerous as hell.

Going to be waiting a while per usual, but maybe this would help.

That’s interesting. Would probably help keep things cooler having more fluid. I wonder if it would help at steep angles though. I don’t know jack about transmissions nor what would help get more fluid up front. Is it always pumped to the front or balanced by gravity?

I kind of like the shape of that pan, its tapered front and rear to the center. It would likely help keep the fluid at the suction port of the filter. But I could also be wrong too.

Yah I’ve been chatting with him and some others. Still torn on which way to go. The Howe kit is in on my list of things I want to do.

It should just be a piece of tubing that cut down to the length you want. Here's a part number if you want to buy it out. I literally just got back my shortened shorty bumpstops from downsouth.

    King 2.0 Air Shock
2.0 Bump Stop Internal Shaft Spacer; 0.50" TLG
    *-King 20AS104-005

I think that is not necessarily recommended, which is why they are hesitant to standup and volunteer for it. If you haven't reached out to them in a while, you might want to try again....

Just a heads up Solo just came out with solid offset bushings for the tundra rack so you don’t have to cut anything to install.

You shortened your 2” to 1”? I emailed again and they confirmed you can’t do it. At this point even 1/2” shortened would help.
