Just put some new shoes on the other day and promptly got them dirty up in Cascade, ID.
Love em. Soft on the trails, smooth on the highway, dont notice to much of an MPG loss thus far.
    10/10 would buy again.

Just ordered a set today on my new truck. Went up a size from the stock size of the 245/75/16 highway treads

I went with 265... I really like the look as well as the better overall grip I feel... just feels more sturdy.

Just got 265’s today and ordered them through Mavis. They are P rated and 2 of them are made in the US and 2 in Japan.

Ooohhh can you post closer up pics of the side walls between US and Japan? It was my understanding that only the LTs were made in the US and that the majority of the Ps were made in Japan. The Japan made tired have substantially less thick sidewall lugs....

Anyone had these in E compared to the wildpeak at3W E load?

main concern is snow performance, then durability, then grip on dust/rock

26D4027C-FD94-4D52-936B-D4FF9079E3CE.jpg Finally had to buy new tires after the stock one were fading. Went with 265/70/R16, so far all is good. Little more road noise and feel road imperfection slightly. At 35 psi, seems like a good starting point from what I’ve read. Good looking tire and better traction on the trails from what I’ve tested.

As far as I know all of the P rated ones, and OWL ones have the less thick sidewall lugs. Also some of the LT rated 16 inch sizes are made in Japan and have the less thick sidewall lugs. Its not just P vs LT. When these first came out I ordered LT265/75r16s and they had the thinner sidewall lugs and were made in Japan. The distributer looked through their entire stock of that size and they were all made in Japan. I talked with someone at Toyo on the phone and at the time it was size specific and you couldn't just assume all LTs were the US made ones with the thicker sidewall lugs. It does seem that all of the 17 inch LT rated ones do have the thicker side lugs. Tire rack is about the only site I've seen that list country of origin on each specific size and that matches up with what I've seen on the LT 16" 265s.

I have them in E. Haven’t had them long enough to try in snow but they are extremely compliant for Es, almost soft but that is perfect for our light trucks. I can see why they out-rank K02s in several categories too. They are better in the rain for sure. And My K02 Es felt like bricks, like i wasn’t getting great contact/squish with the pavement lol. And that is probably somehow related to the open country’s being the lightest Es on the market, almost 5 lbs less than K02.

Just got mine in LT265-70-17 Load E. I did a LOT of pondering over this one and glad i made the switch, it was really hard when K02s have ruled the market for ever, as far as cost and performance goes. And I’ve been through a couple sets with no complaints. However I was really looking to fine tune my truck so to say. I needed Es because i regularly haul a four wheel camper, and needed the extra assurance for handling and puncture resistance. But i didn’t want to go back to K02 Es which I’ve had before. Those were so heavy and you felt it in every aspect of performance that it robbed, especially unloaded comfort. As i said in my last post, they’re almost 5 lbs lighter and outperform the equivalent K02 in several categories. They feel compliant and comfortable for Es, but handle the weight very well whether its aired up for hauling or aired down for daily driving. It was worth the extra cost in the end. Love mine, Ive had them for about 1.5 years, 45k miles. Still perform great at about 85% tread.

Only thing that really sucks is cleaning and applying tire shine... :D

Running a Four Wheel Campers Swift model why did you just not go with a short bed 1/2 ton full size truck.

That would be ideal and its probably my first option as far as an upgrade goes, some guy went from DCSB tacoma to Tundra and it fits pretty well. But the Tacoma has been doing a great job, i know the truck inside and out and I’ve done a lot of maintenance to it. It’s mechanically simple and reliable. Having a hard time with the thought of parting with it to be honest. But someday!

Have had my Toyo’s for a year now and they look great and did very well in winter. No complaints other than wish they had a more aggressive sidewall. 8B7E9176-C2D8-4F6E-ADE3-D888E581B857.jpg
