Tacoma Vs. Rivian

As far as recalls go that was about the simplest one to rectify. Dangerous if not caught and corrected but something simple that didn’t require any shop time or parts to be ordered.

 

I really want to see the dartboard used at manufacturers to decide who’s trucks get built and when. On the TRX forum we watched as orders from six plus months back were skipped over in favor of the exact same truck that was ordered a few weeks ago. My truck was built and then sat at the rail yard for two months while trucks built afterwards went and left from the same rail yard enroute to the same dealership.

 

Unlike the recalls on my 3rd gen and 80 Series, or the warranty repairs on my 3rd gen and on our Prius and Corolla years ago . If only I could get OTA updates for my Tacoma transmission programming.

 

Damn, wouldn't have expected that from Porsche. Gotta be a Bay Area thing.....lol (I grew up in Sunnyvale).

I take my tacoma and my M3 to independent shops now for the same reasons you do (cheaper and higher quality service).

 

Ohh the horror of free subpar car washes and vacuuming. This thread has taken a strange turn.

 

Car paint these days is so shitty that if you don’t bother to wash carefully you will scratch the shit out of the clear coat because you’re just pushing dirt around. This is actually a problem with many of the non-metallic color Toyotas.

 

I’m a January 2019 preorder on a Max Pack so I’m sure they are hoping that I switch to a Large Pack by offering the R1T Shop for such a long time.

Haha, yep. Mine are lucky to get washed once every couple months and a heavy rainstorm counts as a wash most of the time.

 

Not good for sure.

 

Doesn’t change the fact that if you have a perfect, spotless paint job, the dealer should leave it that way and not destroy it.



And this is coming from somebody who used to daily this mutant that was rusted and trail pin striped.

 

Just wait until the memorandum of understanding with Mercedes fails to advance.

They get to the service center around 10:20 in the video. They didn’t have an appointment and they are out of there by 12:30 in the video.

 

Are all Rivian owners that annoying?

 

Did they stop at srarbucks on the way to the apple store?

Not sure, I scanned ahead and then posted the times because I knew no one else wanted to see that.

 

I’ve watched a few videos with that guy. He is a bit annoying but does produce some fairly “scientific” data on performance, charge times, kwh usage, etc. Nerd stuff.

 

I’m pretty sure they’re my neighbors.
