So far so good! They seem very well built. I learned about them from @boogie3478 / Tacomaholics video on YouTube where he had spindle gussets installed. Koyo bearing are good quality for sure.

I wouldn't let the CV dissuade you. I was going to suggest the same punch method Chuy mentioned, if the deadblow doesnt work initially.

Good to know! I think Ill be going that route early next year.

I ended up doing it on my own (with help from a friend) because the dealer gave me one of those f u quotes at around 800 per side. And they couldn’t even confirm if the wheel bearing was bad.. I didn’t bother reaching out to an independent shop after finding out I could do it for a quarter of the cost by ordering from the guy on here, and doing it myself. But the quotes you got from the smaller shops don't seem terrible.

My axle spline (passenger side) was seized pretty good, but lots of patience, pb blaster and a dead blow got the job done. 2013 w 150k.

I bought a set of NSK from 05 taco a couple years ago. Mine lasted about 28k and are now toast. I do run my truck pretty tough and through some nasty stuff. I went with OEM Koyo this time.

lol you see a low price and think its fake. Quality is OEM from what i can tell. I run my truck harder than most so far so good. I just find it so funny ppl write stuff off cause of a lower price. Ive found so many gems that way i cant imagine writing something off because of my own perception. But you do you man.

I agree with fb40dash5. A GOOD air hammer (aka "Big Nasty" or better - 5x rivet gun or better) with a tapered tip (moil punch) should be able to free the CV from the splines. Given that you don't have air, though I have seen some use a good puller.

Grip the arms around the hub (or knuckle if you got a really big one), crank down on the center bolt putting as much pressure on the CV stub as you can, then hit the center bolt with a BFH. With the pressure already on, hitting the bolt may give it enough of a shock to jolt the shaft free of the splines.

I went ahead and had the local dealership do the job. They took a nice chunk off for military vet discount and did it, with alignment, for $730.

They finished up this afternoon and just called me. The bearing was missing BOTH seals. What in the world?

I just did both front wheel bearings on my 09. I used SKF bearing and hub assemblies. I also put on new backing plates and Goodridge stainless steel brake lines. I'm very happy so far.

Picked up the truck this morning. They said the alignment was way off so glad that got done, and the bit of pull I had in the steering is gone.

Unbelievable the difference not having the grinding from the bearing.

    Give this dealership an A.
