    Oh look, another mod....
I have to comment on this. It's one thing to have a keen eye to have attention to detail, it's another to harp on it or obsess over it. Either fix it, accept it or sell it. Stop bitching about the problem. Find a solution.

I use to be the guy they would say "Couldn't see the forest for the trees". I could find the fault and flaw in everything. EVERYTHING. It makes me great at my job, but it made me miserable in life. If you're always looking for something to be wrong, you'll always find something wrong.

Now, I'd rather enjoy my truck and get more "Smiles Per Gallon" instead of getting on an internet chat forum to complain about some defect that I found on it. If you're that unhappy with the condition of the vehicle you own: Sell it.

Sorry to rant. I'm done now.

Because they should have fixed it rather than pointing the finger at someone else.

Exactly… seems like people let alot of stuff go. If i buy something brand new especially for 50k then i want it to be proper! You shouldnt sacrifice quality on a brand new car

Its okay to hold people and businesses accountable.

just because some others lack care and attention to detail for things to be right doesnt me you have to.

these are probably the same people that have a “drive it till it breaks” mindset when they hear a squeak or grinding sounds rather than fixing issues before they become real problems.

lol $50K. If I had spent $150K, then I would have different expectations. Look:

"How much does a new car cost in 2022? Vehicles are also getting more expensive. The average price paid for a new vehicle was the highest on record in July at $48,182, up 12% from the prior-year period, according to Kelley Blue Book."

Our trucks are on average, below the average cost of all new passenger vehicles. I looked at a GMC AT4 and it was $85K. Gladiators and Rangers going for $70K. You think their bumper and bed alignment is any better? So, personally I temper my expectations accordingly. I wore a $12 sweatshirt yesterday. I have on a Tommy Bahama one today. You think I have the same expectations for both of those? Um, no. Face it, our Tacomas are at the low end, price wise, of all the trucks, so I adjust my expectations.

    Here, one more thing:
"Prices for a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon currently range from $49,110 to $85,932."

Some people have this Toyota brain block, where they just can't stomach that maybe Toyota fucks stuff up sometimes. Every time someone has an issue on this forum, the same people try and put the blame on everything and everyone else but TOYOTA.

At4s start around 65k. My buddy just bought one.

You can get a decently equipped Silverado or Sierra for under 60k.

Still not an excuse for poor quality.

$50,000 is near the bottom for a small truck... a true frame on body truck. It is entry level. So if you want that type of vehicle, it isn't a lot to pay. It is the basic amount. Sure you pay less for a Maverick or a Santa Fe but some do not consider them to be true trucks... same argument as the Ridgeline. Panel gaps are what you make them... it's your perspective.

When I bought mine, it was the cheapest priced pick up truck on the market in the configuration I wanted... that makes it entry level.

As for your attention to detail... it doesn't keep people like me alive, I do that, because I concern myself with what lays underneath the skin, at the foundation and mechanical. The parts that really matter.

Because there's a lineup of people willing to pay the Toyota Tax and fork out large sums of money for a purported super high quality vehicle that is really, about par build and quality wise.

To be fair, i don't think anything sold today has the same poor build quality as the Hyundai Pony ( Canada only import). The engine was actually ok, but the rest of the car was SO bad. I think I went through 4 drivers door handles they were so poorly cast.

Maybe that was a poor comparison... I was just trying to make the point that if you look at the market, the Tacoma is really an entry level pick up truck. Not a Cadillac Escalade pick up or a Lincoln Mark LT... the Pony really was in a class of it’s own for quality!

    Really?
I'm 59 years old. I am still married to the girl I met 40 years ago. I have two children that are 30 and 26 years old. A successful career, kids have successful careers.
Really want to bust on me?
