For sure! Good point. Tires are probably the first purchase I'll be making for this thing. Aside from flushing all fluids and giving her a wash and wax.

    People.

The tires on mine were from 2012. Almost unused, no cracks or dry rot visible. I ran 'em but took it steady and slow at first. They held up nicely, but the bike had sat in the guy's basement, so semi-climate controlled.

I'm right there with ya. Either way, it's going to be on there for a while.

I managed to get the brake rotor covers/lights off last night. After scrolling through the MoCo parts catalog, it looks like I've removed about $400 in genuine H-D accessories. I've already got some more replacement parts ordered to fix a couple of issues and fix/improve some others including compression springs for the lower fairing vents (the current ones are the consistency of melted gum drops), LED headlight, tail light, and spot lights, a new license plate bracket so I can remove the tour pack brackets, a new windshield, and QD brackets, passenger backrest, and luggage rack.

It's been remarkably dry here for over 10 days. The triumph street triple and the Duc 959 have had commuting responsibilities. The triumph is much more suited for the task but the 959 is a hoot to ride in on.

Missed this, sadly no. I was coming down and off camber single track rocky section, dropped the bike and went flying into the side of the hill/rocks. Jammed my pinky into a rock and knew something real bad happened. I have never broken a bone in my life but knew that shit wasn't pointed right and was like "Uh Steve I think I broke my finger" Mind you I was in almost no pain which also freaked me out. Got my shit loaded, hit urgent care, the confirm just a dislocation. They try to reset it twice (and fail) and sent me to the ER where the doc snapped it back in.

What kind of bike are you running them on? What type of terrain and conditions?

Yamaha Super Tenere, did TOTD with them and the IdahoBDR with them. Bunch of mixed conditions honestly. My usual go-to tire is the e07 - dakar which also wears like iron for me.

Might be overkill for my eventual goal, but my road is a sh*tshow half the time. Loose gravel on top of hard pack, washboard, potholes, etc. and I have to make a 90 degree turn onto it from the highway. Ate it once on my cruiser (too big a bike for my noobness anyway) where it transitions from asphalt to gravel, and would hope to avoid that with the next bike. :D

I got the brake light issue figured out. My front lever isn't depressing the "button" when released, so it thinks have have the front brake pulled. Gonna order Zeta lever to replace the cheap ebay ones.......I'll eventually learn to stop buying cheap shit on things like this

Only the OP can create a poll for the thread. You'd have to create a new thread to do a poll.

FJR turned 45k miles yesterday on way home from work. Changed oil and filter. washed off some bird shit that managed to hit it over the weekend.

I need to pull the forks off of my Buell and change out a blown fork seal. I'll probably wait until winter at this point to fix that.

Of all the things to wrench on a bike I think replacing fork seals is what I dislike the most.

I'm actually thinking about having a small shop near me do them in this case. These are inverted Works Performance forks and even though I have a service manual when I got to the point where it talks about having to use a torch to heat one area to slide them apart it made me a little nervous. If I take the forks off and give him just the forks he'll do them for $110 plus parts and oil. I'm not sure at that price if it's worth my aggravation.

Forks on the FJR1300 I've done in the past with a little help from a friend of mine and I feel reasonably comfortable doing. I just did the forks on my vintage Honda last year and they were easy.

I'll second that, no fun at all... since you like fingers here was my left thumb a couple months back when it was still in the cast. The doctor yanked that pin out in the office with a pair of pliers lol that was a weird feeling. Still have pain in my wrist and can't rotate it all the way. My right thumb was broke too but not nearly as bad
