    Sooooo this is interesting...

    I am wiring up some rock lights and went to test them out. So I wired them to where I had my air compressor wired previously. I noticed the rock lights stayed on all the time. The only time they shut off is when I flicked the main 60A breaker...
    My air compressor needed 35A to run it. I had a 15A fuse and it blew. So then I put a 30A and it blew. My air compressor has a built in 35A breaker so I just hard wired it to my busses. Now it runs perfectly.
    So it seems that the air compressor shorted some wires in the board. Not good! I have power going passed my fuse. The rubber compound that covers all of the board (to make it water resistant) was crusted up at the one place where I had the air compressor wired in.

    I pulled the fuse where the power is by-passing and I will not be able to use that switch anymore... :bananadead:



    So DO NOT wire a big air compressor to you boards. :rofl:

    The same shit everyone else has.
    Use the switch panel to trigger a relay for the compressor.

    Mines been like this since I installed it with no issue.

    Gosh I feel like someone's father preparing to scold his kid... :rofl: I just want folks to learn/understand, and not just DO when it comes to electricity. You wired something that commanded 7x of what the solid state relay was capable of supporting @5A... And wired it HOT to that location. I'm hoping that you now understand why that isn't a smart move since you got to see it. If you're going to use those smaller circuits like the 5A to power something much larger you need to use the switch panel to simply be a "trigger" for a larger relay that can handle the load as @steveo27 suggested. The internals are the lightest at those points as well.

    Was this from your Viair 87 or was your onboard air something more powerful? I have a Viair 400p and I wired into the 30amp plug but I haven't tried it yet.
    Edit: I saw that you wired in the RFX one....
    The Viair comes with a 40amp inline fuse but the Viair website said that the max draw for the 400p is 30 amps......

    So I like to run all of my forward facing aux lights thru a relay triggered by my factory "brights" switch, for quickly shutting off all forward lighting for oncoming traffic. Anyone come up with a way to do that with this setup?

    The only way I think you can do it with the brights is the wire the panel power to the brights (instead to the acc. fuse). But doing it that way means you need to turn your brights on, and then toggle on your aux lights. You would have to do this every time you turn your brights on.

    The fastest way to turn all lights off that run on the panel is to hit the red "on/off" button in the middle.

    Hope this makes sense. I don't think there is a great way to quickly shut them all off likes doing so with your brights.

    Fuse maybe?
