No they really don't, only in absolute terms. They sell 22 million units (this includes 3/2wheel things like mopeds, Tuk-tuks that make up the majority). Well the US does 15 million (mostly 4 wheel things that are actually cars). With a population of 1.4 billion thats .015(ish) new autos per person. In the US with a POP of 329 million thats .045(ish) per person, and thats with real cars not cheap things that can barely move without breaking. Thats triple the rate China is selling at.

Thats almost 1 to 1 ratio. I was going by new sales per year not total number.

No they also sell more passenger cars than the United States these days. There industry looks completely different than ten years ago where they sold much less 4 wheel passenger cars. Many people in the U.S still have an early 2000s view of China in terms of economics. They are much wealthier now.

Not per person, not even close. That 22 million stat was with "passenger vehicles" no mention of how many wheels it has. Also that source is inevitably the CCP which may not reflect reality.

Don't see a mention of "cars" only "vehicles" in that statistic, still not even close to the US in per citizen terms.

Don’t you have to win a lottery to be even allowed to own a car in China? Then it’s just one per family. That’s why they need public transportation.

I never stated they are the largest market per person. They are the largest market though that’s not debatable or really surprising considering their population. I’ll find you other sources if you like. Economic data is pretty easy to find.

That's fine, but absolute statistical data is pretty meaningless, I say that given there population they sell less "vehicles" than the US, and have quite a small automotive market for a developed country.

I wonder what the percentage of the population is that is wealthy enough to afford a car compared to the percentage that can't afford a car.

Manufacturers are not selling many vehicles in the US these days.

small maybe compared to their relative population but their population still dwarfs almost every country, factor into how long they have been buying automobiles vs the U.S. Either way it’s semantics. They have a huge market and plenty of citizens can afford cars so my point still stands. That’s not considering cultural economic differences. Many Americans have a lot of debt and live outside of their means through credit.

Lol dude all those stats are from 10+ years ago to present totaling up decades of sales. Not meaningful to the conversation at all. And of course a Table that only has stats for automobiles only has automobiles on it...o_O. Again all sourced from the CCP which has no reason to tell the truth.

With excavation (at least when I did it) you just give them a bid, they never really see an itemized list of what it cost to run the equipment. For an example time to and from the job site is worked in there.

Costs are constantly rising, like most businesses I just pass it onto the customer. I know what my time is worth, they may not see it directly but they are going to pay for it.

Add up the entire amount of light vehicles government buys in the US annually, it probably out paces the amount of vehicles Chinese citizens purchase annually.

It is meaningful because you stated that many of auto sales are not real cars. So I just proved you wrong by showing you for the last ten years there best selling vehicles are all real passenger cars. Are you going to offer any of your own statistics or just claim any economic statistic from that market can’t be verified. Because that’s a tough one to sell.
