    Wheeler's/Alcan 5-pack leaf springs, OME 881's, de-badged, Jungle Fender Flares, Herculined bed, HomerTaco grille, Anzo headlights, clear corners,
    had a group of mergansers hanging around last weekend. they took a little break on the shore next to me and had a little snooze.
    there was another bird - a western grebe i think - that was following them around. it'd swim around with them until they chased it off then it'd wander a bit on its own and circle back to try to hang out again. it was all alone, never saw another one all weekend, and looked pretty young. not sure what happened to the rest of its flock

    Normally I do not prefer bird shots on feeders, I like them more "natural" this one somehow appeals to me after I cropped it a bit

    Here is a more "natural feeding" . I must confess I did cultivate the plants they are feeding on. This is a "firecracker" plant. I forget the technical name for it, the hummers love them. Sometimes they are a bit hard to pull a good focus on as they fly in and out of the plant a lot, while only stopping for a brief moment at each flower. This is where I should be using my Daughter's 1DX mk III. Reason I don't -I am afraid I will want this very expensive camera for my own. I have used it some and, this camera will pull out the exact thing you want from the other clutter around.

    Nice pics. I notice you are shooting through a window - I do this once in awhile, realizing this cuts down on the quality somewhat.
