It’s not limited from tucking. I tuck all the way in to my inner fender.

I’m not sure what you are saying here but on my truck with LT my 37’s rub full lock in a parking lot. I don’t know too many kits that clear 37’s without issue. This kit seems to do that better than most. Just based on the fact it moves the tires forward.

Then how come on every other LT kit, you have to cut 3-4 inches out of the fenderwell to clear the tires? Yet marlins kit magically gets all the travel but you dont tub? Please tell me how

Moving the tires forward does nothing for your clearance under your battery tray, if anything it makes it worst.

It moves the tire forward? Sure now you rub in the front but it’s a lot less extreme than firewall rubbing. At least in my case.

But you still rub, and that limits travel. Cycle a marlin kit without tubbing and a 37 ,and you wont get the advertised 13inches of travel.

Wheel offset? Idk. The geometry is so different on every LT. I had to bob my SSO bumper, other kits don’t mess with that either. I can’t say I’ll never have issues with something or other, I’m wheeling this setup way more and way harder than the previous TC I had on 2nd gen. Honestly trying to figure out why this works so much better is beyond what I want to figure out. Clearly from the OP long technical briefing there improvement to be considered. for most of us non dedicated race setups this thing rocks. I definitely don’t rub in a parking lot. Haha

You aren’t wrong. I’ve even said I have limited my up travel, not much. I have a bump stop that fully compressed is 2”. I’ll measure the cycle in the next couple weeks. I have no idea what it is. What I can say is, whatever it is is still very impressive.

First I think your dislike for this kit is clouding your ability to have a discussion.

I never said anything about a full 13” of travel. All I said was that navigating down black bear pass, with 37’s, is somewhat of achievement for this kit. You aren’t going to use 13” of travel for this.

I have a normal LT kit and probably couldn’t do that drive without 50 point turns at every corner.

My point is this kit gives better clearance than other kits. Not that it gives you 13” of travel and fully clearance for 37’s.

Thank you, i look forward to hearing what your travel numbers are.

Im not upset with the limited travel, i think the tacomas need the additional lift, especially at full compression. Otherwise you end up stuffing your diff into the ground.

What i dont like is the fact that marlin doesnt clearly explain how the kit it set up and what you have to do to use its full potential. Selling a kit that is supposed to be 99% bolt on and saying it achieves 13 inches of travel with a 37-40inch tire is a lie. Its not 99% bolt on for those specs. Maybe with 33s you can get that. But the marketing is based around big tires.

So your gonna spend 10-12k on a kit that achieves 1 inch more travel than a stock length mid travel setup?

I also like the kit, i dont like the marketing or big mikes sales pitch.
Its a well setup kit, but the company needs alot of work.

I fully agree with you. 100%. It was good until the marketing bit came in strong.

Again all I am saying is in regards to black bear pass. That’s doable with marlin’s kit because whether people like it or not it does provide some extra clearance. Does it provide a full 12” of travel and full clearance for 37’s? No but I never said that.

If were talking about BFGs it does

How is it any sort of achievement when i can do it in a stock taco on 33s?
Better yet, how is it any sort of achievement, with how marlin is marketing this kit? If marlin actually did hard trails that you cant do in a clean body lightly modified truck, id be impressed. But that hasnt happened with this kit.

Did you remove the brass fitting in the rack? Here is the step in the instructions I am referring to:

    upload_2022-10-12_18-8-40.jpg

I left this fitting in and made a new line to use the correct fitting into the LC 200 Rack

If you haven't replaced your PS pump yet, if you call up JD Fab for their Howe PS pump kit, you can tell them you have the LC 200 rack and they can supply you with the lines and fittings to go right into the LC 200 rack with out needing to modify any fittings.
