I feel like 44 years old is a little late to start over but I need to do something. Retail is killing me! Haha.

 

Even more the reason to join! And there’s actually a bunch of lady drivers I see at the pits.

 

Driving a truck would be more enjoyable than my job ha!

 

Nows a great time to start over because everyone is hiring. If you ever wanted to work in the ski industry Tam has a position open for just about anything.

I can't imagine what could be worse than sitting in a truck for 10 hours a day if not more.

 

Sitting on a factory floor for 10hrs a day staring at a computer, intermixed with meaningless meetings, so far isn't exciting.

 

Hey it ain’t thaat bad, I get out occasionally and unhook my trailer… but yeah you really gotta like driving to do it full time. This week I’ve been hauling asphalt for paving which requires a lot of waiting. Like 1-2 hours of sitting in line looking at your phone till it’s your turn. But my company does a lot up in the foothills by lucky peak and Idaho city so there’s some pretty wild places we drive into. But a lot of the work is just going from pit (where we get dirt) to work site and back.

 

Well all of the things I would like to do require too much experience or a lot of schooling....can't find a whole lot that interests me either anymore. Just burnt out from working myself to death for so many years I guess

 

How's it going guys/gals? I'm not sure if there is a different or specific thread/group that I should be in (or hope I'm not jacking this thread) but I figured dropping a line here would be my best bet since I'm in the treasure valley.

I figured I would stop in to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Jay and I'm here hoping to learn about a lot of different things Tacoma related and to hopefully meet some like-minded people who enjoy getting off their butts, getting together and taking their trucks out to explore.
I'm not really sure what else to say to be honest. Ummm, I was born and raised in Nampa and then spent 12 years in the Marine Corps. Once I was medically discharged, I moved back here. I have a service dog named Normandy and a 2017 TRD Sport lol My kids tend to think I'm an "old fart" (I'm 45) but I'm willing to bet that I can out hustle them at any time lol
Other than that, if you feel like introducing yourself, please do (even if that means you calling me a jacka** because I posted in the wrong section or something haha

 

Another new member here. But, I am an oddball in that I am in Northern Idaho and was actually born and raised here.

I actually now live about a mile from the Idaho border in Washington state.

I've been around the world and lived all over. But when I got divorced a few years ago, I moved back to Idaho.

Can't beat the scenery up here...

Welcome! North Idaho native myself but moved south a few years back.

 

If I can get my pile going I'd be up for a run somewhere in the beginning of November. I don't really know any technicalish trails other than Boulder. Maybe a good snowbash somewhere?
