Yeah, you got cut the frame up, that shaft is looking pretty slim. Here's what I did to get the Tundra rack to fit, mounted in the same place as the "marack" using the diff mounts.

Nice work. Looks like you have a lot of room in there. Was your engine out?

I’d start off with actually reading my posts instead of just jumping on the “this kit is not good” spiel. I never said black bear was hard. If you’d actually read my posts you’d get that.

Did you weld in a new mount? Makes sense to do it your way. We did all the gusseting while waiting for the RCLT, replaced the engine and trans mounts... then had to go remove a bunch of that.

I read your posts, i also never said the kit was bad.

You didnt say black bear was hard, but you did say,

But i dont see how that is any sort of achievement, is driving my full hydro IFS truck 30 miles to work on 39in stickies an achievement? Is that something i should brag about and tell everyone im the worlds first for?

Ive ran my truck on stock width and 37s through plenty of trails without rubbing, lots of hammering and some stiffer springs work great for clearing tires just as much as extending your wheelbase 2 inches and lifting the vehicle 5 inches.

It’s not an achievement. Well other than it’s iconic off road trail that is a little nerve wracking. But it’s certainly not an extreme trail.

Your truck is better than mine. Even with 3.5 LT my tires rub everywhere. Only solution for me is cutting out the wheel wells. Odd that you could 37’s with nothing other than hammering. Can’t say I’ve seen that before.

    So I’ll rephrase again…

With my LT kit I could not do black bear pass. If I had the RCLT or whatever it’s called I’m sure I could since for that type of trail 99% of my rubbing is the firewall.

In my case the kit would provide more tire clearance. In your case it wouldn’t since you were able to fit 37’s without issue.

Does that make it a good kit? No. Does that make it the be all end all kit? No. However it does provide more tire clearance. If you can’t see that then explain to me why so many people (including me) max out their caster, which pushes the tire forward (aka what this kit does) in order to gain a little more tire clearance.

Edit: I’ll also add if you are comparing black bear pass to driving to work, then I’m not sure you’ve actually done that trail. Sorry.

Just tub your truck already so you actually fit 37s, instead of just slapping them on and saying they dont fit. We all know that anything larger than a 34" tire rubs the entire wheel well at the stock bump location, so why complain that you cant even drive the truck when its a given?

So when you said that it was an acheivement before

    Your now saying its not.

And maxing your caster on the stock pivots is much different than what marlin did.

I fit the 37s by limiting stock travel 2 inches and taking a 12lb sledge hammer to the firewall and inner fender.

Black bear isnt a hard trail, is it tight and a little technical? Yes. I lived in colorado for 5 years, ive done plenty of trails out there with switch backs. You get used to those trails pretty quick, thats why i got into rock crawling, theres alot more excitement with what i do now.

Jesus. You guys. I am going to tub my truck. My point was my tires rub now during MILD off road. With the RCLT kit they wouldn’t. That’s all I am saying. I am NOT saying this kit is magical despite you all claiming I am. You CANT fit 37’s without rubbing. However they will fit better than a standard LT kit. That’a it. Nothing about steering. Nothing about travel. Nothing other than what I’ve said.

Hey, not to interrupt this productive conversation you guys are having, but you got any pics or a thread with your hydro setup? I am preparing myself for the inevitable LC200 rack failure.

Okay. You are right. You don’t clearance from the RCLT kit. You can fit 37’s stock. Black bear is as easy as driving to work. Zero difficulty. Caster doesn’t give any extra tire clearance. RCLT is borderline garbage due to marketing.

    Did miss anything.

And for the what third time? I never said black was hard. It’s mentally hard. But not hard as in rock crawling. If I said that please quote it so I can be wrong. Also I didn’t say it wasn’t an achievement. It is. So when you are done putting words in my mouth let me know and we can have a real discussion.

Most of its on my build thread. Let me know if you need a link.
Theres alot that goes into it to make it street driveable. Since the marlin kit is based off the lc200 rack, you will need to base your measurements off that.
I recommend the JD fab pivot kit to help get additional caster and get better return to center, but @Robertocritser doesnt have it and seems to handle well
I used a 3.0x9 ram, where as levi used a 2.5x10. both limited stroke to prevent bind. Both have their mounting issues.
If you have any specific questions let me know.

Thanks man, how do I find your build thread? The JD Fab stuff is great. I just installed the Howe kit, although I had to modify a bit to fit my setup.

The pivot kit looks good. My frame is reinforced at the current pivot points, cam tabs strengthened, etc and the Marlin kit does move things forward and help with caster. I am also not sure how this would fit with my current skid plates.

Definitely takes some trial and error and a great alignment for driving manners. I also just found out my rear end is twisted ever so slightly which pushes me to the right. Once I adjust that I think it will drive better than ever.

By twisted do you mean there is toe in the rear, like the lower links are slightly different lengths? I am having some pulling issues as well and the front is aligned well enough that it shouldn't pull, and I'm thinking I need to look at the rear next.
