You guys ever worked with anybody who says things like "we're in no rush" and then proceeds to rush the entire day? Its a peculiar thing.

We have customers like that. They'll say no rush then the next day call or stop by because they were "in the area" :frusty:

That's gotta be frustrating...dont tell me no rush if you want it tomorrow. I promise I wont have touched it.

This guy I'm talking about works hard, that's great. But he's always in a rush and tries to get other people to rush. Rush just isnt part of the equation here. We try to be efficient with our time, but when you rush you miss things. That's why I dont like rushing. So we butt heads sometimes but that's ok. I've learned to tolerate people better.

Those Cali-Air tools work pretty good. They use a refrigerator style compressor to make them quiet. That's why that one has two, to keep up.

    What heat? :anonymous:

The shop is two stories, the people before us roughed in a full bathroom upstairs, and ran the 4" drain pipe to the corner where I put the compressor. That serves as my intake and exhaust, lol. Without its own septic system, the plumbing ain't good for much else. :)

For future needs I don’t have an exact number or idea. But ultimately I’ll have two CNC mills that require minimal air (mainly during tool changes) and a blast cabinet, as well as some small rotary tools for deburing.

The blast cabinet and die grinders are air hogs.

Any plans that someone else might be consuming air in the future?

@Delta09 what does this shaft do in your place of work? 1.4375” OD, with a .375” key. 5/16-18 tapped hole on one end. How many rpm’s does it turn?

The fine thread 5/16 hole on one end is throwing me off a little bit. However, those are usually used for rubber lagged drive rolls that drive the belt. The keyway is to keep the shaft from spinning in the taper-loc. A lot of torque going through that bad boy. Could also be a shaft for a power-turn, but most of those use two keyways on the same end of the shaft. The bearing on that shaft failed pretty bad. From past experience that bearing was making some noise for a while. That was possibly the "screw your buddy" system where someone saw it on a PM, but is in a place that is hard to get to. "Ahh, it'll fail on another shift"
