Let's say the 2022 Tacoma has 30 TSBs (making a number up, I have no idea what a typical number is).

Will the 2023 model have all 30 implemented?

Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure if "TSB" is the correct term. I'm talking about recalls and advisories and such.

    Thanks.

TSBs are just repair instructions for common issues, if the car doesnt have the issue there is no reason to do the tsb.
Recalls are required to be performed on all vehicles before they can even be sold.

Usually once a TSB has been issued, the problem has already been addressed in manufacturing for sometime, to prove the problem is in fact fixed.

We do not have any real idea there. But, I would say that your guess is correct. The subjects of Recalls / TSBs are implemented in production at the same time or earlier than they are released to dealers.

Most recalls are required to be fixed on vehicles for sale before a new owner can take possession.

    Thanks.

So it sounds like if a Toyota documented problem is at the point where you're reading about it, the factory has already corrected it it'll be gone by the next model year for sure.

It is a pretty good bet the 2016 Tacoma (first year of the Gen 3) had the highest number of TSBs assigned to it, and each subsequent model year the count has dropped. This general rule applies to most makes and models with few exceptions.

Is each model year's TSB count documented somewhere?

Just like any company decision, there's cost that plays into it.

If a TSB costs the company a $3.50 part and $50 in labor to perform on 1% of vehicles that are actually impacted by it...but it costs $30 million to re-tool something or they'd have to throw away $30 million in inventory and be down for months waiting for the new supply, they're simply not going to be in any hurry, and rightfully so.

As soon as it becomes more profitable to fix in production, they will. If it's not more profitable, and customer satisfaction does play into that equation, they're just not yet.

Obviously things like recalls (or safety concerns) are going to be a bit different.

Typically speaking, by the time a TSB is released, it's already been in production for some time.

That said, some TSB's are to change something that is working as designed or solving a problem that doesn't affect most owners. In these cases, it can be that the TSB is actually changing the spec of the vehicle and the production line is still producing them per the original specification.

In the second case, it can actually take a few years before the TSB is updated to allow that modification to be done to newer vehicles.

How quickly and when TSB's are released varies on a case-by-case basis.

Wish they would make a recall/TSB with the water bypass joint.
