How do you like the cover so far. Were there others you were looking at before the OEM

Just wanted to thank OP—this little guide made installation super easy!

I used an angle grinder to cut the bed rails. Something I learned: the horizontal cut should be pretty high up so that the cover doesn’t rub and pull up on the plastic rails.

A hand held razer cutter much easier. Just need very good leverage of the rails.

Anyone have issues putting the bolts into the bed? I'm only getting a few threads in and then they just stop.

Yes very hard to go in. Might have to spray some pb blaster and let it sit for a day. Or something that will break down the rust in the threads.

Just rusty threads. All of them will be like that. I just impacted mine with a hammer drill and put anti-sieze on there. It's really hard so learn from me. Spray something on there before hand

Thankfully got them out. Just need to order replacements. I'm seeing 64949-04010 as the part number, hoping toyota doesn't hurt me with the price

Anyone know if these are a goof replacement for the bolts used for the striker plates?

More than rusty threads. I just put my 2021 OEM Tonneau on my brand new 2023 TRD PRO that had no rust. They were extremely difficult to screw in and I kept thinking that I was cross-threading them. I persisted and finally got them all to seat. I speculate that the threads are full of paint from the factory.

I can confirm the T30 bolt fits MUCH BETTER than the T27. Hooked it up and blasted one in after 12hrs of wd40 in the slot.

We used a brass rifle cleaning brush mounted in a cordless drill to clean out the threaded holes. A few seconds in each seemed plenty. Started them all by hand and them ran them down with the drill as well. Hand tightened each one with a 1/4” ratchet just to be sure.
