Well, rear case clocked as much as possible required lots of cutting in my 1st gen with no body lift. Did a half-ass job finishing sealing everything before a trip, if anyone figures out a shifter boot setup that works well with their triple sticks let me know! Otherwise everything is working well.

Right now I have an fj t case swapped in to my 2014 tacoma manual 6spd
if I am following this correctly I need to

    1. remove t case and take appart again and put the input and planataries into the eco box
this way my my original input which the tacoma came with will be with the transmission
    or

    2. dont take my transfer case appart but get another stock tacoma transfer case so i can use the input on my transmission and it will hook up with out problems.

Problem is another stock transfer case will not be top shift and another fj case will but will not have the right input...

    ?? help.:)

I highly recommend reading the install guide. Should answer most questions. It looks like they recently updated it since I did my install, but I haven't read over the changes in detail yet.

    https://northwestfab.com/pages/installation-manuals

You are correct on option 1: the 22 spline planetaries that you swapped into the FJ case need to come out of of the FJ case and go into the ecocrawler with the o-ring flange that came from your original tcase. Hopefully you kept the old 23 spline FJ planetaries? You will swap the input shaft on that for the one supplied by NWF, and install back in the FJ case.

Did you have to swap over the lower plantary gear spline (toyota part #36284-35021) for the FJ swap? I think you would have had to, but I am not 100% sure. Shown below:

    20220628_155856.jpg

    20220628_160346~2.jpg

You would need to source another one of those to put back on the 23 planetaries that came out of the FJ case, after you swap the shaft from the 23 spline to the NWF shaft. In addition you'll need a shift collar and some other odds and ends...all listed in the first few pages of the instructions.

Your option 2 is buy a complete FJ case as a donor, not a Tacoma case. The only useful thing in the stock tacoma case for your application is the 22 spline input for the manual trans, which you already have. Just pull it from your current FJ case and find all the other parts you need in another donor FJ case. This is what I did.

Edit: This is the more expensive route. The additonal parts you'd need are cheaper ordered individually. I only went with 2 donor cases because I had a cracked FJ case laying in my garage as well as my old taco case available.

Either way, your existing case has to come out and be taken apart to swap the input shafts.

Heres the NWF box assembled with my tacoma 22 spline planetaries next to the FJ planetaries swapped onto the NWF input shaft.

    Hope this helps.

A readybuilt option would be tricky with their design. it would be a complete ecocrawler and transfercase pair. There are so many slightly different transfer case options on these trucks it would require a HUGE inventory on their part.

I have two donor cases, once I get mine eventually ordered and built I plan to sell the donor parts from my spare donor case. But I dont want to sell those parts until I have mine built, and that might take a year...

yea i hear you. this year I put 37's on the truck, unplanned.
next year I'd like to see this in the truck so trying to understand the ordering process and what parts I need to get.

Unfortunatly I can't live breath and eat this stuff as I did in the past so Its a "when I have time" thing for me right now.

sorry should be more specific. I ment is there an built eco crawer box option. meaning I just need to plug it in between my current t case and transmission and put shifter on it.

I dug into this pretty deep when i got my donors.
The problem is you need to disassemble the rear case and install their new input shaft. Your rear case input shaft gets installed in the eco crawler and connects to the trans. so it's not as easy as the old gear drive doublers which you could buy pre-built. (I had those in my old crawler)

I bought a VF1, VF2, and the exact transfer case for my truck and disassembled them all so I could better understand their process. The install manual they had was not great (I actually took much better pictures identical to their manual which I intend to use in my build thread)

Mega subbed. No videos of 1st gear low low @Supr4Lo creeping up? Doesn’t have to be on nasty boulders I just want to see the show since I was no able to find shit on YouTube pertaining to the ecocrawler. Thanks, my eyes on this for sure.

I don't take a lot of video but here's one where I was goofing around. 1st gear double low at 113:1 crawl ratio. Neither gas or brakes were touched the whole video. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iulciGVEvm2nHMf-Yc-4Bws7IQ-CNoAV/view?usp=drivesdk

Wrapped up an install last week on a customer's truck. Ended up building a new center console to clean up all the shifters and added a switch panel.

Yep. Somewhere around the 35 hour away mark away from Toronto. It's too bad there's no one doing the eco.crawler around hear and the console to boot.
