Or just install a green one anyway if you have the orange.

I've never seen an orange one in the wild, only green.

I’ve seen a ton of orange down here. I’m convinced Texans are obsessed with 2WDs with no tow package. But they still wanted to be high up so the PreRunner was born. I’ve heard so many boomers down here chanting “two wheel drives ARe LeSs maiNtEnancE!!!”

Prerunners are crazy popular out here too. Ever since the overland phase took over I see more 4x4s, but prior to that virtually every Tacoma around here was a Prerunner. They definitely knew there was a market for 4x4 looking 4x2s

It's less Tacoma and more mod
4x4 is still the most common around here, we kinda have to have to because there's actually weather and terrain other than dry pavement or graded gravel.

Yeah I think the Prerunners were specifically marketed for the SW and maybe SE states to some degree.

To this day I see posts on this forum from guys in the Northeast that had no idea Toyota even made a 6 lug 2wd Tacoma, lol. They've been doing it since 1998

If anything, I see more 2nd Gen Prerunners than anything else.

If I was still actively camping, and maybe now that temps are dropping I will more, that may be the way I'd go. I've always preferred tents to RTTs.
Though, I've seen people put those cots on roof racks haha

Yeah lots more around here than I would've thought. I think if I lived in the SW / desert area, a pre runner could be/would be fun. Build one light and fast.

2wd vs 4x4 the oil filter is less of a pain in the dick but that's about it

Don't worry, it's bad on the 3RZ as well.

    Toyota learned on the 4.0?

    But It isn't?

You ever had to change the oil filter on a new ranger?
