The pulley should be pretty straight forward. I would recommend loosening the four bolts with the belt installed, release the tensioner for the SC belt and remove the belt and swap the pulley over, reinstall the belt then torque the 4 pulley bolts

Previously quoted upgrade pricing for 87mm was $50. This is still not finalized (but will not be higher), and will likely be lower.

Mr Maldonado met up with YotaWerx networked tuner @Mcbelen today in Houston, TX to get his Magnuson supercharged Tacoma Stryker-tuned, now benefitting from significantly improved performance and drivability!

    Small update:
    - checked coolant and it's flowing nicely
    - removed the brass restrictor on the bypass valve

Going to drive it another 1000km this weekend > 3km elevation gain. We'll see how she does!

I had removed the brass restrictor also until one of the guys on the forums started experiencing lean conditions. He put his back in and I did the same.

Also, there were some posts a page ago on how to properly set the by-pass valve. I’ve been concerned about this also because I unbolted the by-pass valve bracket so I could turn it upside down to make removing (and then re-installing) the brass restrictor easier. Yesterday I emailed support at Magnuson. They told me to move the bracket on the slotted screw holes until the lever contacts the set screw and then give it a little bit of preload.

    Just a couple of FYIs.

easiest way to swap the pulley is to
crack the bolts holing it on,
use a 3/8 socket and breaker extension to take tension off the belt
slip the belt off the pulley taking care to keep it on all the others
loosen all the bolts and remove
    replace with the new pulley
    all steps in reverse

I was a little nervous about it the first time I did it and now its super super easy..

Also, Id like to address the video that never was. truck has been making a new, low droning vibration between 60-65 (thats when its most noticeable) and I want to figure out where its coming from. kinda don't want to do any big pulls for the time being.

    I’ve gotta say,

I just recently got the Blackhawk, Active-Duty Tune on my 3rd Gen Tacoma 3.5L ORDCLB … im am THOROUGHLY impressed. It drives like a totally different truck. I mean- Night and Day difference. It’s definitely fixes every serious complaint I had on throttle, torque, gear searching, etc… especially having moved into 34”s 10ply tires, I was feeling bummed about the drag and gear shifting inconsistencies in the truck. I thought a regear was the only solution - now I say, to hell with regears! This tune is genius!!

I know this this is a fully subjective review, but I must say this has solved my loaded-Taco woes. She drives like a spring Chicken! Even with steel skids, front bumper, cab and bed overland racks, roof top tent, Toytec 2.5 Alu series full suspension, full Ikon leaf pack, gear, and passengers.

I spent the better part yesterday afternoon driving all over the foothills, mountain roads, 4x4 trails here in Boulder County- didn’t skip a beat. Not one missed shift in gear. Totally efficient. I drove up one of the steepest switchback roads in the county (Magnolia) and the truck steadily hovering around 2K-2.5K RPMs , cleanly pulling the whole way up .

I’m so stoked on this tune I Kinda want to see if Yotawerx would allow me to offer tuning services to spread the product. I think we have more Tacomas in this county then anywhere in the country

Just want to say Thanks Yotawerx! Your tune has made me a happy driver again.

Is there any risk on running the 87mm pulley with the 90mm Stryker tune?

I did that for a week or so and changed it out as it sounded different than it should.

Vibe issue: thankfully, it seems to be noise coming from the rear diff. I have a 2 degree shim on the axle holding the pinion higher than normal to accommodate a Tom Woods axle. Drained out the 3qts and put in about 5 with the truck forward on an angle. it was black and sludgy. pretty sure its quieter now. took it for a 45 minute test drive and didn't get any overflow out the breather. once I get my single piece axle back on and *its* quiet, ill do a video.

Phew. Glad you found the problem. There’s nothing worse than chasing down a problem vibration.

What were you hearing with the smaller pulley installed?

Oh you need a SC and the YotaWerx Stryker Tune if you want more fun and an equally impressive preforming engine/transmission combination. Glad you like the Tune! @mZiggy does amazing work !
