I'm curious what the 285/75R17 will actually measure in at, and what the price will be. Could be a good alternative to the Ridge Grapplers.

Why would you choose these over the nittos? Just curious currently tire shopping and the nittos were up on the list with mickeys or maybe Yokohamas.

Toyo owns Nitto so they share a lot of the same technology and properties.. They will be pretty close looking at the tread design.

So OK, these are listed on America's (Discount) Tires.

    https://www.americastire.com/buy-tires/toyo-tire-open-country-r-t

    I looked at 265 75 16 tires.

My current Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 116T in the same size are listed at $214

The R/Ts are listed at $306, Same price as the M/T. Of course the R/Ts are an E rated while mine are 116T (C rated?). My tires are 44lbs and the R/Ts are 53lbs each. For $92 more per tire I want more that the review I read at https://www.trailchasers.net/post/t...view?cid=b81ff18d-f716-4a2c-8b9f-3f5569bc65df

Here's more info off America's Tire web site:

    OVERALL DIAMETER 31.89"
    RIM WIDTH RANGE 6.5" - 9.0"
    WEIGHT 53 LBS
    TREAD DEPTH 16"
    LOAD INDEX 123
    LOAD RANGE E1
    MAX PSI 80 PSI
SPEED RATING UP TO 100 MPH
    WARRANTY 45,000

They also mention a dual sidewall design. Didn't see pics.

Was hoping somebody here had a review

Those are the original RT, not these brand new RT trail ones.

The originals are great, I’ve had 265/70r17 for three years now. They are load E and 56lbs.

285/75/16 looks like its coming in at 61 pounds which is fairly heavy when compared to other options.

They posted the specs for a couple more sizes. The 265 16s and 17s are on the website now.
56 pounds for the LT265/75R16, but only 49 for the LT265/70R17

So I called Discount/ America's Tire as they are listed as a dealer and they don't have them yet. Went to Toyo's web site and filled out their inquiry form. Hit submit and got "server IP address could not be found".

    WEEEEEEEEE! :bananadance::broccoli::jpow::annoyed:

America's/Discount Tire is local. They can mount & balance the tires for me. They have lots of locations in the western states for warranty work. Also, checking Trail Built's page they don't have the Trail listed yet either.

Went to Toyo's site again and this time the form was submitted.

I guess you jump up a solid 15# when going with an E load range tire. Not sure I want that. I like the sounds of a 42# Baja Boss STD load range I think. Still shopping.

Living on gravel I used to get flat tires pretty much monthly in standard range or p rated tires. Mostly from nails and other gravel road treasures. My last 2 sets have been E load tires and I've had no flat tires. I've found 2 nails in my tires but they never made it in far enough to cause a leak. I'm looking at non E rated tires now too to save some weight but it's nice not having tires filled with plugs. I don't like that many of the non LT tires only have 13 or 14 32nds of tread when they're new when the LT ones are 16 or 18. The Baja boss are on my shopping list also since their 16/32. I'm coming from pretty heavy falken MTs so pretty much anything I pick will be lighter.

We are, unfortunately, waiting on internal part numbers for this tire. With that being said, though, your local store should be able to special order them under our miscellaneous code (assuming Toyo has them available).

If we can help in any way, please don't hesitate to shoot us a PM!
