    Thank you.

I need to practice more with stick. This is all being done on the driveway. It’s gotten way too windy for gas welding.

Had a rack at work that needed some reinforcement so I told em I could take it home and find something around that should work. A ride on spreader goes on these btw. Anyway I straightened out the front tire stops and welded a piece of 3/16 angle in the corner then ran a bar across the top and added a center brace, which is adjustable in length to match the original adjustments for the wheels... Only a few more of my welds looked bad than the ones that looked good lol, prolly like 60/40. I told my boss if the owner of the company has any questions to only let him see the good welds haha

Not, too shabby. I think your welds will be fine.

Welds didn't come out as well as I would've liked, then again I half-ass cut some pieces so fitment wasn't the best.

I started in the bottom right corner of that top pic, gas was off but I caught that about 1 second in, there was a little gap on the bottom that looks a little dookey, and my dad had been welding some upside down stuff and filled the tip with a bunch of goodies that my wire would occasionally stick on, but after I took everything apart and bumped it on the grinder a little, it acted a little better

I've seen welds done by a robot that were worse. Those are just fine.

Thank you, but I mean they're not good enough for me

The whole rest of the bumper is welded nicely, and all my pieces nicely blended. UPS guy earlier today swore it looked like the bumper was all one piece just bent to shape.

Anyone work with a PAPR helmet?

In three weeks I’ll be ordering one for work. Debating between the older 9100 and the newer G5-01.

    Anyone own the G5?

Ooh, post your thoughts when you get yours!

My co-worker across from me had this one -

Nice setup but he did admit it was rather bulky at times, especially when he'd have to bend over to get between stuff and grind something with his hood flipped up.

We use the 9100 at work. I’ve been borrowing a friends but he’s needing it back so I’m ordering one. Work has 100% of the 9100 parts stocked and maybe 90% of the G5 parts stocked so I think I’m going to try the newer one for the better air vents and pay for some of the parts myself.

Will let you know in a month or two how they compare!

I know this isn't actually welding, but since we don't have an "Anything Plasma Cutting" thread, I post my stuff here. I owe a friend at work some signs because he gave me an old boat trailer for rehab. He's a S Illinios guy who kills several deer every Fall, and he and his wife like metal signs.

Came out really good. I started with a basic design freebie off the net, but it always takes a lot of adjustment to get them to work on specific equipment.

Looks great to me. I did a bit of plasma cutting myself this week.

It's very satisfying when the machine does what you tell it.

He's a good dude, wish I had more time to hang at his shop and drink beer haha. Getting to see the truck in person was cool too. So much going on there.
