    few things here and there.
This is like.. the best, most detailed response I’ve ever received and 100% just learned two new things lol.

I did want to give you some clarity in the height though.

Mind you, I’m going off what the company has told me as well as a shop that installs them, so.. I’m taking that with a grain of salt now lol.

Anyway, so I am running an Eibach “Stage one” kit. There are three “snap ring” settings (trying my best here to describe what I was told). I am on the highest setting. They recommend that when adding additional weight to maintain the height I am after?

I can move my rings down to adjust the front height. Their kit is supposedly a direct plug and play replacement. I can technically run on the lowest setting and I’ll sit 1:1 with OEM. So, they claim taking them off, moving the ring down will adjust the height of the front. So I should be able to get back to a solid 2” in the front and 2” in the back. I’m sitting at 2.6 in the front now, after removing the weight.

Sorry if that was explained poorly.

Oh, and my UCA’s are already aftermarket. I have “tuff country” UCA’s that are apparently better than stock? Unsure, I did not put them on. However, I called them directly and they advised they are meant to help with a 0-4” lift. So, when the guy noticed I didn’t have the adjustable UCA’s he told me all my angles were fine, but long term it’s best I get adjustable UCA’s to help with my lift.

The largest tires I plan on running will probably be my current 265’s unless… I could fit 285’s, but I’m sure that would require cutting and chopping… and I don’t really want to do that. So, 25/85’s May be in my future.

that’s what I was trying to explain haha. Now that I have a significant better understanding I know what should be best!

Based on this pdf, I see the 3 snap rings that the shop is talking about. What that snap ring is doing is preloading your springs by forcing them into compression. I'm going to reference my Old Man Emu coil-overs for this example. If I installed both coil-overs and allowed the truck to sit still for about a week, the truck would settle with the drivers side sitting lower than the passengers side due to the fact that my fat ass sits in the drivers side, the battery is installed on the drivers side and to some extent, the fuel tank adds weight to the drivers side of the vehicle. So the OME kit comes with a trim packer shim to put a little preload to the drivers side spring effectively 'leveling' out both sides. Your Eibach kit doesnt come with a trim packer but it does have that snap ring effectively applying that preload to your springs effectively lifting your vehicle +1" and +2". Without derailing too much, if you clamped up a spring compressor with your vehicle on its wheels, then lifted your vehicle into the air on jack stands, you should be able to have some wiggle room to adjust that snap ring to the middle setting without having to take it into the shop. You can do this with basic tools and a rented spring compressor from your closest auto parts store. With that said, if you are feeling uncomfortable at all messing with the spring compressor (I dont blame you, that shit freaks me out too) then youll need to take it to a shop to get that spring off but you're looking at maybe 150$ in labor. When this is all said and done, your spring will now have more play to compress lower effectively lowering your ride height.

As for Tuff Country UCA's, I'm unfamiliar with them. What I look for in UCA's and LCA's now are poly bushings and a grease fitting. Every oil change, I hit my 5 drive shaft zerk fittings to keep my U-Joints lubed. Lube capable control arms should extend their life.

And yes, I realize I used 'effectively' very effectively in this post.

    Absolutely makes sense.

I’d like to hire you as my personal mechanic lol.

Also, two places have quoted me 500+ to do it. 400 in labor, and 100 for an alignment.

You know, I’ve never messed with springs.. but I’ve heard horror stories lol. Then again.. I’ve heard horror stories about being using augers lol.

May have to have the shop do it and accept the price tag.

I believe the book rate for suspension work is 75$ an hour for labor and it would be about a 2 hour job. That's not to include the alignment. What I did was get the lifetime alignment from firestone. I could go in there every month and get an alignment for basically free. Not sure if they still offer that service. But yeah, a Mod day could sort you out in a few hours minus the alignment. Doing an alignment manually with chalk and string doesn't sound like a fun time.

I got that same lifetime service, but they wont do custom caster adjustments. Now I take my truck down the road to a shop in Abbeville where they do a +3 or more adjustment with no problem.
