Lol right?! He kept that chrome polished though! And that 760lb tank was only a 1207cc.

 

We mountain bikers are the same way. Hit a tree a few years ago and broke 4 ribs, and ripped my shin open on the pedal bad enough I get banned from FB every time I post a pic of it.

ER Doc read me the riot act when I asked if I could still race in Durango, CO 36 hours later. Thankfully he stitched me up in a more flexible way and gave me a big bag of bandages and antiseptics and told me to not be TOO stupid.

Yikes that must have been painful, I'm surprised you could breathe let alone ride after that lol But that shows determination and love for the sport.

I'm always amazed by the pros that ride injured and still perform at a high level. Granted they have the best medical care available to them but still. I read John Hopkins autobiography recently and his stories are crazy - he was a MotoGP racer that had some pretty bad crashes and a lot of times would fly to the doctor, get surgery and fixed up, then fly out the next day and be back on the bike.

 

Nothing some 800mg ibuprofens and a whole bundle of endorphins can't solve.

That said, I crossed the finishline, and about 10 minutes later as the comedown was starting to happen opened up a world of hurt.

 

The face on my ER doc when I asked him if I could ride the next day seconds after he snapped my finger back in place was hilarious. They don't get it

 

after i got my cast removed i asked mine sooooo when can i ride again? he just looked at me like dude....

 

sooooooooooooo who is our new op have we decided who we will follow blindly into battle yet?
