So was bringing my son and his friends bikes home today and while unloading they dropped one bike off the side of the bed resulting is a few pretty significant scratches. Thoughts on cost to repair? Worth it and are there better options (wrap, bed protection products, etc)? 97E7CF64-15BB-4BAD-83A0-59063D7F77BB.jpg

Wait... you didn't open the hood and scratch it when you bought it..... that way you put first scratch/ding on it. Then it's just war wounds and collateral damage.

2 years in I'd leave it and trade it in, or leave it and keep it.

Only 9k miles, don’t drive much and will have paid off in a few years. Plan on keeping it at least 15+ years

Most of us do, but one scratch or dent is going to lower the value very much. Just an eye sore and it will always be a memory. Don't sweat the small shit;)

No money, all went to truck...
You gotta somehow cover the part that is scratched down to the primer. It will rust. Whether you get it repaired or use touch up paint. But get it coated ASAP

I think you should at least get the factory match spot paint/pen and paint it so it doesn't rust even if you don't fix the dent. For reference, I had a horse bite my fender and hood scraping the paint down to the metal and denting the fender. Just that one incident cost about $1400 to repair (the shop bondo'd the dent and blended the paint on the hood/fender). Photo attached for reference, looks like you're rocking the same color, so now you know what yours would look like with a horse bite too....

If it was already wrapped or had PPF on the bedsides that would be torn, and would probably look about the same.

You could get a flat bed, or go really high with trimming the flairs and get some really tall tires.

You could get it repaired. Have the area blended, or paint the whole bedside. It's been mention here before that MGM is about impossible to match to the already existing paint.

I think a set of Volk racing wheels would distract everyone's eye from the damage.

Get paintless dent repair on it and you may find a good airbrusher that could cover it.

If it’s a long term vehicle, I’d say prep and touch up the scratch yourself. It may not be showroom perfect, but you’re bound to pick up more scratches over the years and that cost can add up. Personally I’d rather put that money into other things for the truck.

I really think this is what I'd do too looking at the photo. The factory matched spot paint will do a decent job of hiding that.
