Shouldn't have any rubbing noises unless you accidentally moved something, or get it on the brakes. Why did you use? No need to do the gas tank, or above it/bed....their composite or plastic.

It's just weird that I can creep forward and nothing but creep backward and it starts moaning like a ghost..

While braking only? Or the whole time? Does it stop when braking?

The whole time. Start moving backwards and it slowly ramps up the sound. Go forward and no sound. I'm guessing I got some of the stuff on the rear drums, perhaps just a tiny amount but enough to cause it to vibrate when rotating...can't explain the one way but not the other thing tho..

Geez, i hope you didn't get it on any of the u-joints, or in the rear differential pinion flange. Some of that stuff can creep into everything if not careful where its applied.

Well not too worried, it acts as a lubricant also. I suppose it could thin out the grease in certain areas. I'll take a look in a week or two in those places and see what I can see. Coming up on 10k miles so maybe I'll just have all of them re-lubed if there are zerks...

None of the lanolin based preventatives will hurt anything under your truck. Minus weather stripping.

That's the thing though - does anyone know what the KBS Cavity Coater is actually made out of? The website doesn't say and I can't find any information on it.

Problem is some of those rust inhibiters attract dirt which can get abrasive if it gets in the wrong place like on a oil seal.

Usually if it rated as a long term self healing type wax coating it must be similar to cosmoline.

PSA: anyone who decides to go with Cavity Coater, DO NOT buy their crappycrapcrap spray gun! I actually just finished sending it back at a shipping cost of $14 because it doesn't work at all. They use a venturi system where the air blows out the gun past a tube stuck in the goop and it is *supposed* to pick up a tiny amount and blow it out as a mist. Either my sprayer was defective or the design is worthless. I just finished buying the official fluid film spray gun kit for *substantially* more than the CC $40 spray gun kit because that is the one I borrowed from a friend to actually do the spraying...

So far I'm liking the CC goop, it doesn't smell bad at all and seeps into seams and welds and does exactly what they claim. After the salty roads this winter I will recheck and post a follow-up in this thread.

BTW: creaking sound in reverse is now gone so guess it was perhaps a gravel caught somewhere that the air gun dislodged.
