Wow, that's nuts!

 

I got a new frame last November, and the catalytic converter is pretty rusty, but my truck as a whole is now pretty clean...

 

There's a stick shift Civic that I really wanted to get, but it's booked almost solid...

 

I recently looked at a rental from Avis/Enterprise for a few days, like Thursday night to Monday or something. Both were in the $350 range. For a basic economy car.

Cough cough inflation cough cough

 

They didn’t replace every piece of metal in the truck. Engine bolts, lug nuts, caliper bolts, etc. Truck as a whole can be clean, but small PITA issues will stick be present.

You know, Turo is not the place I would rent out my manual transmission vehicle on. But, if you ever need to teach someone how to drive a stick shift……

 

When my Insurance Policy was renewed my Agent called and suggested that I up the Rental Car Coverage, now I know why.

 

It’s a fun time to be alive.

 

I paid extra to have the engine mounts replaced, and the brakes were just replaced like two weeks ago...

 

The engine swap can be done over a weekend with some liquid encouragement. It’s really not that bad of a job. I think you’d enjoy the challenge.

 

But I still have to pay for an engine that I don't know the history of, and the shipping of said engine...

 

No it ain't...

 

I mean comparatively speaking, we are much better off living today than we would have been at really any other time period, with all this technology and information at our fingertips.

Wait, I’m usually the Debbie downer.

 

we can find one I’m sure. Use that time to swap the engine in and rebuild yours slowly

 

I don't have time, or a whole hell of a lot of money...

 

All the stuff going on in the world today, new and used vehicles at record high prices, and my truck decides to have a significant mechanical failure...

 

maybe pick up a few extra shifts if you’re able, that’s what I do when I have the urge for a big purchase. Or take out an interest deferred loan through a place like greensky

My dad is pretty much covering for the five grand for the head gasket job. We have an arrangement that is better than any loan I could get; I am applying for a job at Home Depot, but my current job is cutting back hours.

 

My neighbors' kids can't even make money doing that...
