HAHAHAHA. that's a good one. I did se another blackhawk flying in LCC the other day. Immediately thought about the crash.

Now if only Snowbird would embrace mountain bikes on their tram...........

They fly over my house all the time.

And yeah, the no bikes on the tram thing is dumb AF and loses them easy peasy revenue.

Comment section on the PB Tool Poll Post is wild and sadly relatable.

HAHA! helped a dude in Moab seat a crown race using PVC and a soft rubber mallet...on a picnic bench. that went as well as you'd think. Had to ream the inside of the pvc a bit with a knife so it could go further. and the mallet was just too damn soft. it worked...mostly.

Oh yeah, I've had some janky rigs that did the job, but with much stress.

3/8 Craftsman socket with a bolt through the 1/4 square drive made for a shockingly good star nut setter until the Jenson USA one went back in stock.

    Yeah.
I find that my buddy Plank is a good help when seating seals and races. Sometimes when Plank is hiding, I call in Woody.

Getting in some of the last trail rides of the season. The last day could be any day now.

Trying to get the stoke up before a long winter of trainer rides and cold gravel rides. I have some big goals for next season so I'm trying to pack in some end of season fun before the work begins.

Is a PVC pipe not the correct tool? :notsure: I may have just set one earlier this week using that method..

Last crown race I installed was split (by design). Trivial installation. But for solid non-split races, PVC pipe works great, though a block of wood and a hammer work a lot better to drive it on than a mallet.

PVC works. Haha. In this case, the mallet wasn't great. And we had to ream the PVC inner diameter to get it to go all the way.

Honestly, the removal of the old one was more of a trick. I used a flat head screwdriver and was just very careful not to marr up the steerer tube. Reinstall was a PVC pipe and a small sledge (handheld, nothing major). It was a Cane Creek race, solid.

It was like surfing on leaves at spots during yesterday's ride.

PVC setter works great. Semi-pro tip: fits 1 1/2” crown races better with the splice connection fitted to the end
