:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Off to the last follow up this morning - hand is looking a lot better. AC guy comes while I'm out - wife pays that bill; she can express her displeasure (to the kid she taught years ago, and knows the whole family!) Find some Putz the rest of the day. Oh, have a new Roomba to play with. Maybe I'll do that.

Here's a trick they use. Credit reporting usually scoops up the "statement balance" in the first weeks of the month - so if you pay it off after you get the statement, they see you as still "owing". I have been slowly grabbing the balance on-line before they send the bill, and have scheduled it to pay earlier, hence, actually having a "zero" balance. It's worth a few points, but I don't care enough to develop the process more than that. I pay everything once a month on line, scheduling the due dates to try to take advantage of that.

Good on you! Hard part to remember is you're watching the racers, not the race! Have fun!

it’s been my recent experience that a zero balance on credit cards doesn’t generate statements, which causes a major drop in credit rating due to “not demonstrating good credit management practices”. I now pay the statement only, or current balance all but a few dollars to insure that there is at least a small statement generated.

Hmmm, I suppose it depends upon the card provider; I have four different credit card providers and I get a statement every month from each of them, in spite of the fact all but one show a zero balance month after month after month.

Probably all true, and it depends. Among comments I get from credit monitoring, is that "you've paid off you balance". Which I thought odd since I do every month. That led to comparing the dates. Then doing a little shuffle on the paid dates. Since I do it all on one day, that money is gone anyway. When they are scheduled to get it seemed to make the difference. There are a number of free ways to have score checked, and they all have various comments addressing the why.

    So.
Finally got my led lights for my blower.
    4 x lumins, 1/2 power usage.
Gives me an extra 1.5 amps to charge the battery using the winch.
Power conservation with only a 9 amp charging system.lol

We have an Ariens and a very old and small Toro. Both have their usages. I need to bring the Ariens into the garage and replace the primer bulb. Looks like an hour task that will take me 3 hours to complete. ;) I replaced the carb on the Toro last year and the shroud removal/reinstallation was a PITA.

Pretty inexpensive meal. If I remember correctly the turkey breast was around $8 and the LB of bacon was $4.50. Both items were on sale. I am a Harris Teeter eVic member and they have special eVic sales every Thursday thru the following Monday. The sale is usually an item on sale for the week and they lop off an additional $1 to $3 on the item. Thursdays is senior discount day, seniors get an additional 5% off the entire bill. This upcoming Thursday I have an additional $5 off coupon because I received my flu shot at HT.

Yesterday was doctor visit day and pick up another load of soil day. My cardiologist cave me a clean bill of health and we set us a six-month appointment for my annual stress test. He also recommended that I pick up a book on the Mediterranean diet. I am always looking for healthy meal choices these days. I also went to an ENT doctor. Came out of there with a referral to an Audiologist and a prescription for a nasal spray. After picking up a load of soil I stopped by the pharmacy to put in the prescription and ended up also getting a flu and Covid 19 booster shot. Did not get home till after 2PM. A rather long day.

Today is off loading the soil to where it needs to go in the yard. I should not need any more soil.

    Everyone have a great weekend.

There is no “beam” per say. I couldn’t take a pic outside last night but inside the garage look pretty good. I’ll take one tonight and show you.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/race fans. Thanks for all the chatter about my volunteering to be around race cars and race car people for a whole day. ;) It was fun, educational, entertaining. It was a BMWCCA event being run in conjunction with VRG -- Vintage Racing Group I think. I met a guy with a Super Seven and we'll be sharing information as I prep mine for race use. He's more hardcore than I am aiming for but was totally friendly and helpful. Our job was to help the drivers to their place on the grid, then to eyeball some safety stuff like HANS devices and gas caps and whatnot. Since the track was being shared there was a lot of time between grid duties for sightseeing and race watching. I enjoyed it so much I'm heading back down Sunday.

Here's the BMWCCA group. 40 cars! They told me they put 90 cars on track at Watkins Glen -- all at the same time -- in two starting groups. Lots of exciting, fast, close racing.
    IMG_1608.jpg

Part of the grid for one of the VRG qualifying sessions. I think they go by engine displacement. Quite a varied lineup.

    That’s my association..
They go by engine displacement but, also other factors.

I hope to enjoy that short work! ISU has the best defense in the Big 12, but they haven't really played a good offense, and they can't score. Texas is a different animal with a real QV (we haven't had since Colt), and I'm hoping that Sark starts to channel an inner Barry Switzer. And that the rest of the Conference starts to eat each other up.
And that OU loses some more!
