Ah I know it's quick but what can I say, I'm lazy and usually it's dark when I would have had an opportunity anyway (no garage access and meh). I've pulled the unit out of my 08 and installed a metra before so... it's easy money but less easy running the cables properly, zip tying them up, ect... lol

Got into about 4ft. of snow near the top of Mary's Peak. Had about a half dozen rigs in the group. Went up at 6:30PM and didn't get back till after 3:00AM. I don't know how many recoveries we did on ourselves and then a bunch of recoveries on other people up. When you are going for pure snow its expected and part of the fun though, at least for me.

Its shocking how many people aren't prepared for snow at all and head up in cars like Rav4s, Subarus, etc. If it weren't for us a few people would've been spending the night. Not fun considering temps were easily single digit.

Gonna go to TSF to look for snow with my daughter so she can play in it. Good idea or bad? Not going anywhere deep. Just enough so there is a small chunk of snow for her to play in. Maybe where we staged last meet :confused:

I've made several solo snow runs up there. You should be good as long as you stay off the trails. That's the only time I've gotten in trouble and needed to break the winch out. Sucks being out there by yourself when the cable breaks though haha. Never had a problem on the roads though. I'm sure there's been more than enough traffic on the roads to pack the snow down anyway.

Well...Went up Prairie Mtn near junction city tonight. The tacoma just couldnt do the trip. :( 5 powerstrokes and 2 dodges(1 dually) made it half way so we decided to party where we ended. The dually dodge got stuck so after some work with juiced trucks we got him out. Lost 1 drive line, and heres the fun story....

On the way back down the MTN road was froze and packed where previous trucks went so it was very slick. The truck i was in lost its front drive line so we pretty much were in a controled slide 95% of the time down. Our rig and a buddys finally made it down the mtn. We waited for 30 min for the others and got worried. Turned around and tried going back up but with 2 wheel drive just couldnt do it. I got out and walked about 1 mile the mtn road before i seen the cause. The dually couldnt stop sliding and smashed into the back/side of the other ford. Dually went in the woods down the hill somewhere. I couldnt see it but they were ok. Got the guy who got hit turned around and down the mtn. It sucks to see such nice trucks get worked over so bad. Out of the 5 powerstrokes, 4 were 7.3L with the 6.0L tranny. TOUGH ASS TRUCKS, and of course jacked to sky heaven as well.I took some pictures but its hard to see since it was with my damn phone, but will upload them into this post sometime sunday when i wake up.

    It's late and im beat.
