Anyone have suggestions on where to look for steel running boards that aren’t crazy expensive?

I know you said steel but the OEM cast Aluminum ones are great. Excellent grippy texture with a wide step that also keeps road spray off the side of the truck. Black color hasn't faded in 4 years and I park outside.

I’d look for take off OE ones, better quality, better price.

I agree with @Lunchmeat79 in that I too, got the OEM aluminum but in black. Mine have not faded either. My own suggestion though, would be to just get the straight ones, and not the ones with the step that hangs down. You lose a few inches of ground clearance with those!

Another vote for OEM tube steps. My access cab Sport came with them and I didn't want them, but after a couple days I decided I like them. They look OK and don't hang down, and they're just right for putting your heel on as you climb into the truck.

The biggest thing though is they keep rocks, mud and dirt from slinging up and hitting the bottoms of your rocker panels and doors.

I hated the OEM 5" tube steps on my 2018 Tacoma. They were too high and too close to the truck body to be useful as a step. Went with Steelcraft 4" oval steps, they are much more functional as steps.

I just took off my predator steps and am looking to get rid of them. I’m also from New York….. but unfortunately I’m in New Mexico until may
