Hilarious, that’s a 70’s Bayliner. I have the exact same sterndrive on the back, Volvo-Penta AQ280.

That’s nearly exactly the same boat I have.

@Empty_Lord on vacation in Tahoe and my bro's 2021 rav4 sprung an error for "low braking power" and "abs disabled" and "parking brake malfunction" that only surface when accelerating. No leaks, fluids look good, so I told him it's probably safe to drive the 8hrs home. To me that seems like a wheel speed sensor, ya? Another option would be a low voltage situation as it occurs when it changes from electric to gas? The warnings seem serious on the dash but the car drives and stops fine so I think it's fine to drive?

Now that's a username I haven't seen in a minute. Thought COVID got you. Glad you're still around

potentially a failure in the parking brake system. usually. but it can literally be a million things. im assuming its a hybrid?

Yeah hybrid. Lives in LA and now in Tahoe for the weekend where it's getting colder at night. Return to LA tomorrow. It doesn't feel like either side of the parking brake is sticking. And we can hear the actuators moving on both sides. So maybe a sensor? Either way he was looking at me to know of it was safe to drive 8hrs home and to me the answer was yes. If the brake pedal was soft or the error came up when using the brakes I would say hell no but to me it's an electric fault.

it could be a simple case of wheel speed sensor. or low 12v battery voltage. IF you wanted to try something you can disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect. it'll reset the codes at least

Sadly I hitched a ride here and there's no tools to try that. I'll give him the green light to go though and he can have it dealt with when he gets home. I'll be curious what they find, kinda feel bad since I convinced him to get a Toyota because they are bullet proof
