Checked the scopes out and they were either on or pretty close, but I inherited a rem 700 in 25-06 and 50 handloads. It had a 2-7x32 or something Burris scope that I put a new rail and a 4-12x50 barska on. I ordered a 0 moa rail but they sent a 20 moa and I almost didn't have enough adjustment to get it low enough but it works... However the recoil seemed really excessive for the round I thought but I chalked it up to coming off a .243. the last two shots may be evidence of otherwise. Both shot a little smoke out the back and the bolt was pretty sticky IMG_20221016_171718_827.jpg IMG_20221016_171634_579.jpg

did it blow the primers? id watch those loads. sticky bolt and blow back are signs of high pressure.dont want to see you damage your gun or yourself. that it from someone who blew the cylinder in half on a Ruger Blackhawk ..44mag

Yeah I did a quick Google and everything look ok by the load paperwork based on weight and powder but I didn't take into consideration they were solid copper bullets and by Barnes data they were 3.5 gr over max... 25-06+p ain't no fun

That, but these were 100 gr which is light for caliber, copper is harder than lead though and I assume builds more pressure due to a lack of ease of conformity to the barrel which would be reason for a lower charge on a given weight as well I assume

    Yup and
being a long bullet,if they were loaded over length also. that would put them in the rifling which jacks pressure bad. take a candle, smoke one of the bullets and chamber. take it out and if you will see rifling on it its over length. we would do that and shorten just till no rifle marks to reduce freebore for groundhog loads.

Sat saturday morning for archery opener; saw 3 does, and then a fawn getting chased by a turkey. Always a good hunt when you at least see a deer!

These are from last year or two on our land. Just to remember why we get up at 3am to sit in a tree in the cold. lolA6833594-889B-4344-A7DE-812005A36324.jpg543AB9BA-F823-4F77-9F2D-8DDC69BA8AAC.jpg03C0451D-474E-4BAD-9C82-62B095412F55.jpg

I would get up early for those too! Haha! Biggest deer I have ever seen in our hunting area was a 4 pointer (west side) or 8 point (east side) when I was 12 (I'm 40 now)

a lot of bad ass stuff
I’ve had these two showing up at my spot for at least a month now. First time I’ve seen them together. I got a few other small bucks (ones I feel should live for another season and hoping neighboring hunters feel the same)

rifle season starts Saturday in Georgia and I’ve backed off of my spot except for replenishing corn for the last 2+ weeks to let the area heel. I’m hoping one of these guys show themselves to me on Saturday :fingerscrossed:
